Rockateer Tom’s by: Lissykin Take your protein pills and put your helmets on, it’s time to go to Rockateer Tom’s! This wonderfully imaginative space rocket is perfect for your next group outing or birthday party. After recovering from his fateful mission into space, Major Tom found himself stranded in Lunar Lakes. Making the best of his situation, he decided to become an entrepreneur. Opening several Port’a’Party Warehouses made him successful, but he yearned for something more. Choosing to build an arcade, he focused on maintaining the futuristic feel of his floating tin can and bringing his rocket to Lunar Lakes.

Patterned floors in bright jewel tones and wall coverings to match, help keep with the space shuttle theme. Inside there are many activities to satisfy every appetite. The gaming center has arcade games, Skeeball, a jukebox and a Black Jack table.

The basement is a wildly fantastic, bubbly karaoke lounge with an Anti-Gravity Orb, Photo Booth, and completely stocked Nectar Bar. A Mixologist is on site for all your intense Knubb Ball discussions.

The lower level basement has the best dance club in town. Decked in black lights and Gobo orbs, you won’t be bored. The upper levels of the rocket are accessible and contain a Bubble Blower, Gumball Machine, and a sofa to lounge on after enjoying both.

There’s plenty of parking for all the electronic cars, so bring your next group to an adventure that’s out of this world.

Miss E’s Stop Tips 

Never underestimate the collection of EA patterns at your disposal. Most of them have more than one color channel, making them very versatile, often more so than custom patterns. Experiment with the color wheel and have fun!

Check out the exchange regularly for new patterns, and bookmark the studios of your favorite creators. I'm very meticulous about keeping track of what patterns I've downloaded and by whom. While I use a database, a quick and easy way to keep track of patterns in your game is to add any that you download to your favorites on the sims3.com.

Girls are pretty easy when it comes to fashion. They can be summery with 4th of July colors and stripes. Or you can add some fun pinks and greens with a nice plaid pattern or flowered patterns. Something that makes girls so fun is their ability to make any color look nice and playful. Now you have some fresh new clothes for your girls!

Boys are rough and tough and ready to run! Just like the girls they can also sport some 4th of July colors and stripes with a little kaki mixed on the side. You can never really go wrong with blue and green as well, traditional boy colors. And don’t forget those fun patterns with cute animals that your little ones are sure to love. Now your boys can run the town in style.

The Legacy Life by: Jaguwar I love a good story. Don't you? From the time I was a child, I was an avid book hound. I'd read at the kitchen table, a habit my parents despised. They made me put the book away. Even now, in our technological world where I seem to always be on the computer, I almost always have a book nearby. Sometimes, I've read it before. Many times. That's not so easy to do with online-only stories, but authors like CreativeMommy make me wish I had a tablet or other portable

method of reading so I could take her stories with me everywhere. I told her as much, too (well, something along those lines, anyway) and eventually got to the point of having the following conversation. It went something like this: How did you start writing legacies? I originally started with brainstorming ideas for a short story to post on The Sims 3 site, but after looking around the forums I found Pinstar1161's legacy challenge rules. I thought that would be a lot of fun to do, and *So I+ turned my short

story into a big legacy. The Abruzzi's is my second legacy; my first was the DeLuca's. Sadly, I lost everything for them at some point due to an issue with my computer. I took that as a good sign because I had no idea where I wanted to go with their legacy, and when I began brainstorming new ideas I figured out that what I wanted to write would not have fit with their family.

Do you have a writing background? I definitely do. I have been writing poems, short stories and song lyrics since I was about 10; and now I can add my legacy to that list.

I took

a creative writing class in high school and at the end of the year we had to do a huge story as a final essay. We had to write a 5 page beginning to a story, as if we would one day have it published and sold to millions of people. My story was the highest grade in the class and I was chosen to have my story passed down to future classes as an example of what they could write about and what the story should look like and include. Writing lets my imagination go wild and it also distracts me from real life things when I need time to myself. I write every chance I get and now my legacy takes up most of my writing time, but I make time to write other things still too. I enjoy creating my own story from my favorite game and share it with others that love The Sims as much as I do.

Which legacy style or rule set are you following? In the beginning I was following Pinstar1161's rule set but now I have gone by my own rules. Although following a set of rules was an enjoyable experience, I found that when I went on my own I became a lot more creative with each chapter and I was inspired to dig into each character more than I would have if I was still following rules. Even though I don't follow someone else's rules, I do still have my own rules set for me to still make running a legacy a challenge. I don't use any cheats at all except for my pose player when Sims or objects need to be moved to a specific location or right next to each other. My Sims earn their money instead of having money handed down to them from their ever trusting, yet sometimes evil, Watcher.

What world did you set it in? I originally was using Bridgeport as the setting for the Abruzzi's. I am from a decent sized city that is not far from the biggest city in our state, so I loved the idea of having my legacy family being down the street from all the hotspots of big city life. All the shopping, food, and bars/clubs along with the dangerous creatures of the night would make for lots of exciting, yet terrifying, encounters for my special family.

After a complication with my game I moved them to Appaloosa Plains temporarily until they finally moved back to the big city, this time Starlight Shores. Starlight Shores is now the Abruzzi's place of residence. That is until something else happens to my game again; or until something happens in my legacy, which always seems to be the case.

Do you make custom Sims for your story or are you using downloaded/"rented out" Sims? In the beginning I created my own Sims but they never looked as good as I wanted them to. After doing some research I found the amazingly beautiful Sims created by the talented MartyP. I began using her Sims while at the same time refining my creator skills in CAS. As of recently I have been adding my own Sims back into the legacy and I eventually plan on creating all new Sims for the town of Starlight Shores.

Tell us about the Abruzzi's The Abruzzi's are full of drama, violence and can be very complicated at times, but when it comes down to it, they are loving, friendly, caring, and would do anything for their family.

For

many years the Abruzzi's were the leaders of an Italian Mafia but one disagreement of a leader, who also happened to be the most powerful attorney in Italy, led to the deaths of many family members over the years. After running from the Mafia, the Abruzzi family now has to deal with the Mafia again, all the while trying to raise a normal family, keep everyone safe, and not raise any suspicions.

How long would you say it takes to get enough material for a chapter and how often do you update your legacy? Normally when I am working on a new chapter I will brainstorm ideas, making bullets for each idea, like my own rough draft of where I want my story to go next. Once I do that, I will hand write the chapter and add or take away from my ideas, it depends on if they actually fit or not. If I am in a very creative mood (which is quite often) I

will write out two, sometimes 3, chapters in a day or two. After making any changes to a chapter it doesn't take me long at all to go in game, pose my Sims, and take screen shots. When I do get into a creative mind set I can get 2-3 chapters out in a week but there are times when I can only update once a week. Real life things do come up but rest assured I won't be gone long and I will come back with yet another great chapter.

Who's your favorite Abruzzi? Who would you like to throttle? Why? Now, that is a very difficult question to answer as I have become attached to all of the Abruzzi's, even if they end up becoming difficult. If I had to choose a favorite I would probably choose the current heir, Lexi Abruzzi. When she first came around I really didn't have a thorough story planned out for her role. But, after deciding to bring an old storyline back, I knew she would be the perfect fit. Lexi has gone through so much and has had more problems to overcome than any other Abruzzi, and because of that she has been a lot of fun to write. An even harder decision to make is who I would like to throttle. I can honestly say I can't choose an Abruzzi for this. But if I could choose anyone that has been in my legacy so far, I would choose Ricardo Ricci. His role has been good creativity and drama wise, but at the same time it was harder for me to create his role in the Abruzzi's lives because he has acted about as low as a Sim can act. Unfortunately for the Abruzzi's, and for my readers, we have not seen the last of Ricardo, or his coven.
