Instructions for Qualatex Friendly Jack

®

To keep assembly time to a minimum, gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning.

Helium: 1.3 cu. ft. Labor: About 10 Minutes Materials:

1 30" (76cm) “Funny Face Jack” Microfoil® Shape 33241 1 16" (41cm) Mandarin Orange GEO Donut® Latex Balloon 37800 3 160Q Lime Green Latex Balloons 88353 Qualatex BalloonRibbon™ Raffia Small Sand Weight

Instructions:

1. Air inflate the GEO Donut and tie the neck. Tie a length of Orange BalloonRibbon onto the knot of the GEO® and wrap it through the center and around the GEO several times. Tie the other end of the ribbon around the GEO’s knot to secure. 2. Helium inflate the Microfoil and tie a ribbon onto the neck. Pull the end of the ribbon through the hole in the GEO and tie it to a small sand weight. Push the sand weight up into the center of the GEO. 3. Make a Curly 160Q (see “Curly 160Q” below). Starting at the knot end, make three 2" (5cm) Loop Twists (see “Loop Twist” below). Wrap the Loop Twists onto the Microfoil’s neck. 4. Repeat Step 3 to make another Curly 160Q with three Loop Twists. Place these Loop Twists on the top of the GEO “pumpkin” and wrap the BalloonRibbon around them several times to secure. (This will also help to keep the weight in place.) 5. Make another Curly 160Q, leaving 1" (2.5cm) uninflated. Wrap the knot end into the Loop Twists from Step 4, and tie the other end around the knot on the GEO. 6. Accent with raffia.

Curly 160Qs 1. Fully inflate the 160Q with air, and let out the air to stretch the balloon. 2. Wrap the 160Q around a cylindrical object, stretching it a little as you go and making sure not to wrinkle or twist the balloon. 3. Air inflate the 160Q while holding it around the cylinder, and tie. As it inflates, the 160Q will curl around the cylinder.

Loop Twist 1. Twist a bubble twice the length of the loop twist. 2. Sharply bend the bubble in half, and twist the ends together.
