with Jaxson, providing him with the confidence to confront his challenges head-on. As he quickly assimilated into the program and within a week, Jaxson expressed gratitude for his parents’ decision to seek help, acknowledging the need for change in his life. Undoubtedly, being away from his family presented the greatest challenge for Jaxson during his time at Sheridan House. However, this separation became a powerful motivator, propelling him to fully engage with the program and commit to personal growth. At Sheridan House Residential Program, the focus extends beyond mere behavior modification. The dedicated staff work to instill essential life skills such as accountability, trustworthiness, responsibility, and leadership. Each month, the staff selects a Team Captain for the Boys’ House based on their scores and achievements in areas, such as school, home on the weekends, and the boys’ house.

Jaxson’s Redemption
at Sheridan House Residential Program In a quiet corner of the Sheridan House Residential Program, a beacon of hope shines through the story of Jaxson, an 8th-grade boy who has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past year. Before arriving at Sheridan House, Jaxson’s life was marred by poor choices and association with the wrong crowd. However, with the guidance and support of his family and the dedicated team at Sheridan House , Jaxson’s journey to redemption has become a testament to the program’s commitment to changing lives. Jaxson’s struggles began with seemingly innocuous acts, like swiping a cookie from the kitchen. However, these minor transgressions snowballed into more significant problems, like stealing items of greater value, and even money. Despite a change of school, suspensions continued to follow him, and it became evident that a transformative intervention was necessary. Upon entering Sheridan House, Jaxson was greeted by the Director, Mr. Vann, who offered a simple yet profound piece of advice: “Just be yourself.” These words resonated
Jaxson’s journey within the program reflects a remarkable trajectory. Amazingly, when he became eligible, Jaxson was appointed as Team Captain for the majority of his months in the program. He Jaxson receiving the embraced the position Eagle Award for honesty with determination and enthusiasm, guiding his peers to make better choices. Through this responsibility, Jaxson not only learned to lead but also became a role model for his peers, which was miles from where his journey began with the wrong crowd.
As Jaxson prepares to graduate from the Sheridan House Residential Program this month, he does so with a renewed sense of purpose. His aspirations extend beyond the walls of the program as he envisions a future in football and seeks to deepen his relationship with his family and with God. Jaxson’s story serves as a beacon of hope for others navigating similar challenges, highlighting the transformative impact of love, guidance, and a commitment to positive change at the Sheridan Jaxson winning first place in House Residential Program. the summer race car event
