Linda Martin-Mason, Ombudsman, the San Francisco Housing Authority, announces an extra meeting added on May 22, 2012 at 1800 Oakdale to discuss preferences. Unknown commenter asked if disability is a preference. Gerry Hayes, RAB, asked what “no preference” means as a suggestion for a preference? Mary Smith, RAB, suggests a preference for those individuals 62 and over. Socrates Demetrius, RAB, asked if disability is a preference. Chapter 12: What is the insufficient fund policy? (Section XII-I-E) Mrs. Martin-Mason took note of the question. Mr. Demetrius, RAB, asked if there is a reasonable accommodation for a mental illness? Mrs. Martin-Mason took note of the question. Unknown commenter asked what the HAP is? Mrs. Martin-Mason took note of the question. Public, why isn’t the Housing Authority required to review all surrounding circumstances in the termination of assistance. Mrs. Martin-Mason took note of the question. Public, suggested Homeless Children be added to the preferences. Tom Batapaglia, RAB, commented that the Housing Authority’s response time in inspecting units is an obstacle. (Recruitment and Retention section.) Public, asked if the Landlord is required to know the rules of the program. Public asked when the landlord can request a rent increase? Chapter 13: Ms. Hayes asked for clarification on referrals provided by the Housing Authority for potential units. Ms. Hayes, RAB, asked, under “leasing to relatives” why the PHA may make an exception as a reasonable accommodation for the family member if the family member may not be a relative for purposes of being in the program. Mr. Schlotterbeck, RAB, asked what the timeframe is for the Change of Ownership to take place. (Section 13-II-E.) Public, asked if the new owner is required to keep a Section 8 tenant?
