Happy New Year from Cord Scrapbook studio The ball has dropped signaling the end of one year and the start of a brand new one! 2013--already! It’s amazing how time flies! With the start of the New Year, it’s not uncommon to find store shelves lined with calendars, day planners, protein shakes, workout videos, and oodles and oodles of organizational supplies, begging the question--what are your New Year’s Resolutions? Will you be striving to get your craft space finally organized once and for all? Or are you starting up a new method of documentation like Project Life to help you keep up with the new year’s memories? How many layouts are you committing to for the year? Looking for some monthly challenges to keep you on track?

We’re thrilled to announce a new type of specialty crop for our patrons looking for some dedicated weekend time to catch up on their albums. So, thanks to the rave reviews you offered after a couple of trial runs this past Fall, New 18-Hour Cropping Retreats will be Well, we’ve got a few new tricks up popping up once every three months! our sleeve for 2013 as well--all of which we’re incredibly excited to share! Mark your calendars now--our first of these retreats is coming up Friday & Saturday, February 22nd and 23rd! NEW CLASSES Registration will open February 1st-Stay tuned to the blog for more info. Cord “Stop & Stamp” Workshop (Diana) Tuesday, January 22nd, 6:00-7:00pm Cost of Class: FREE Back by popular demand--Our “Stop & Stamp” Workshop is a great way to experiment with different stamp images and styles and to have fun in the process! All you need to bring is your favorite paper and ink, 3-5 stamps (labeled with your name) for everyone to “play” with, stamp handles and/or cleaning supplies and an open mind! There’s no theme this month, so please bring stamps a variety of your favorites to share! We’ll trade stamps, practice different images, trade ideas and share techniques! Please note that although the class is FREE, registration is required. Year 2013 - January (Vicki) Saturday, January 12th, 10:00 - 11:30am Cost of Class: $18 Come and join in documenting the year 2013 in an easy peasy but a fun way! We will make a 2-page 12x12 layout using the “Winterings” collection of patterned papers and embellishments, a little help from the Silhouette Cameo and much more! Class kits with some pre-cut pieces, instructions and a photo are available should you be unable to attend class! Beyond Basics with Copic - Session #1 (Martha) Saturday, January 12th, 10:00am - Noon Cost of Class: $33 (Includes 4 markers)/ $15 (Class Only) Want to take your Copic marker techniques to the next level? Beyond Basics with Copic is a series of classes is a series of classes focusing on coloring faces & hair, blending techniques (tip to tip, palette and paper) as well as adding texture to your Copic images. With Session 1, we’ll be coloring with BLUE and BASIC SKIN TONES. (B41, B45, E000, E01, or E50, E51. “C” is for Copic (Martha) Saturday, January 12th, 1:00 - 3:00pm Cost of Class: $33 (Includes 4 Copic Markers)/ $15 (Class Only) In this beginner’s class, you will learn the Copic coloring system, marker styles, paper, coloring techniques, which paper & ink to use, etc. With each session, we’ll feature a family of 4 markers and you’ll leave with a ton of new ideas for trying out those new techniques! Playing w/ Patterned Paper (Vicki) Saturday, October 12th, Noon-1:30pm Cost of Class: $18 Have you wondered how to use all those patterned papers? Come and join us in making a 2-page, 12x12 layout using Authentique’s “Peaceful” collection! You will learn how to use the patterned papers, layering, and few other
techniques! If you can’t make the class - order a kit! The kit will include photo with instructions, all the papers, and most other supplies! Sketchy Recipe (Vicki) Saturday, January 12th, 2:30-4:30pm Cost of Class: $15 Have you noticed all the sketch books on the market? In this class you will learn how to use a sketch (which is the recipe for a great layout!) and your Silhouette or Cricut machine to make it your own! We’ll choose the sketch and you choose the papers/title! Please bring to class a basic tool kit, your electronic die cutting machine, 4-6 photos (if desired), and your creative energy! You will see it is a “Sketchy Recipe”! Copic Cards (Martha) Saturday, January 19th, 10:00am -1:00pm Cost of Class: $22 (Markers Provided for Use)/ $20 (Bring Your Own Markers) Beat the Winter blahs with a fun set of all-occasion cards! We’ll use a variety of stamps, Distress Ink masking techniques and a special Copic touch to make these cards as fun to make as they will be to receive!
