TR ICIA HA LL S TYLIS T Tricia is known for her sleek, modern styling, and her love of colour and texture. Her work is a highlight as part of Sunny Fong’s line, VAWK, considered one of the top shows at MasterCard World Fashion Week. Tricia’s creative path began with visual arts early in her life before leading to fashion design and construction, visual merchandising and eventually a position as an inhouse off-figure stylist at a photo studio working for a nationwide client. She then tried her hand at photography. Her desire to create looks rather than capture images sent her back to styling, her true love. This desire has led her to work with clients in the United States and Canada including the Hudson’s Bay Company, Holt Renfrew, Target US and Dress to Kill magazine and the Globe and Mail. “I quickly gave up [photography],” says Tricia. “But with that knowledge, the experience of working with talented photographers, along with a fashion construction background, I found it made me a better stylist.” Her work has given her the opportunity to work with photographers Alvaro Goveia, Felix Wong, Joseph Saraceno, Lily & Lilac, Owen Bruce and Zhang Jingna, to name just a few.

Marta Bevacqua borns in Rome, in 1989. She starts being interested in photography during high school; once graduated in 2008, she starts dedicating fully to this passion, until it becomes a job. Marta starts making experience in various photographic fields, even if fine art remains her largest field of experimentation. She wins some contests, like the first prize at Px3 and several mentions at the International Photography Awards. Right now Marta works mainly as a fashion photographer, but she always continues to work on her personal artistic projects. From january 2014, Marta lives in Paris.

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR BEAUTY WARDROBE AND MAKE IT HOLIDAY READY BY BRITTANY GRAY, FOUNDER OF FANCY FACE INC.

W

ith fall upon us and the holiday season just around the corner, it is the perfect time to analyze your makeup bag and try to make it more “pop, fizz and clink” ready for the festive season! To add more of a punch to your makeup, here are my top five things to make your beautiful face Insta-worth with the hashtag, #holidaygram:

ADD A WARM CHAMPAGNE-TONED HIGHLIGHTER TO YOUR MAKEUP BAG. My favourite tone is Charlotte Tilbury’s Film Star palette which has a bronzer and a magic highlighter in it. The tone is warm and perfect for the holiday season to give you that glowing, lit from within appearance. Apply it to the top of your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, in the corners of your eyes and on your Cupid’s bow. You will look redcarpet ready in an instant with this little trick. PICK UP A PAIR OF FALSE LASHES FROM MAC COSMETICS AND START PRACTICING. The festive season is a perfect excuse to bring out your inner diva and make your eyes pop. My main tips to applying them seamlessly are trimming the edges to perfectly fit your eye. The lashes should start in your inner eye where your natural lashes begin to grow and end where your natural lashes finish on the outside of your eye. For simple application, apply the glue

B E A U T Y

DITCH THE PINK LIPSTICK FROM YOUR MAKEUP BAG. We all know that pink lipstick is a fan favourite. However, this time of year is an amazing excuse to pull out all the stops with a bold and beautiful red. Look for a red lipstick shade that is matte this year and has a blue or cool undertone. This will make your teeth look white in photos.

to the base of the lash and wait 20-30 seconds for the glue to become tacky before applying. This is the most essential step. If you don’t wait for the glue to start to dry, you will have a slip & slide lash to deal with. My final step is to look down into a compact mirror when applying them. You don’t want to look straight into your bathroom mirror as you will block your eye area with your hand. Looking down into a compact will give you the perfect angle. Keep your eye slightly open when applying the lash and rest it just above your natural lashes close enough that you don’t see a gap. For a sturdier base, apply a small coat of mascara to your natural lashes before applying the false ones. IF YOU ARE A PINK BLUSH WEARER, OPT FOR SOMETHING MORE WARM AND PEACHY INSTEAD. This will work better with your red lip and champagne glow. FILL IN THOSE BROWS. Be sure to finish off the look with a beautifully tailored brow. I love the Anastasia Brow Powders for this step. It gives you a natural looking brow, even with the use of an angle brush. Try to keep your brows full during holiday season to really empathize that Marilyn-esque glam. With these tips , you are sure to be a total knock-out during holiday season. Pop on a sequin dress and you’ll be the life of the party!

holiday hair with

TONI&GUY T

he holidays are r ight around the cor ner and with that come the too familiar, sensational overload. The combination of glitter ing dĂŠcor, over the top holiday dresses, wonderful smells of the season, and an abundance of parties and events can easily overpower the senses.

We chatted with Zak Mascolo, Creative Director of international brand Toni & Guy, to get the low down on Holiday Hair Styles. His take? Simple and chic is the way to get you through and looking your best. "I'm a big fan of the "less is more" approach, especially around the holidays! Here are my top three hairstyles to get you through the holidays looking chic and fashion forward."

Best of all – they are easy to accomplish right at home!

1. For the first of my favourites is the simple classic, and somewhat clean-ish, low based ponytail bun. This look is forever chic, and it never really seems to be either too much, or too little for whatever type of Holiday outfit. 2. My second favourite is another clean concept; a soft smooth finish with an asymmetric part, and a tuck behind the ear on the lighter side. This look is all about a soft sense of elegance with an edge. 3. For my last pick, and easily achievable Holiday look, I choose the simple, and moderately textured, loose concept of a ponytail that sits either on, or below the occipital bone. This look is really modern chic in the sense that it requires minimal effort, and yet produces a sense of fashion forward thinking mired in controlled chaos.

WINTERIZE YOUR CLOSET WITH

eeping an K organized closet at all times

is half the battle when getting dressed. Nowadays, with everybody’s busy schedule between work, play and travel, who has time to sift through a wardrobe? Following these three rules can help you build a closet that you are intimately familiar with:

MAKE SURE ALL OF YOUR SHOES AND BOOTS ARE REPAIRED FOR THE WINTER, THIS INCLUDES REPLACING OLD HEELS AND SHINING BOOTS UP. Now comes the fun part, shopping for the new season and filling-in where you’re missing pieces.

CREDIT: MSGM; PHOTO: STYLE.COM

This winter, for men it’s all about grey. With gray, you have a whole spectrum of light to dark, so you can find a grey that will work on any skin tone.

IT HAS TO FIT YOU (INVEST IN A GOOD TAILOR!) You must feel great in it (just because it is in Vogue, doesn’t mean it’s for you!)

Shearling is big everywhere and not only does it emulate the winter season, it actually keeps you warm. Look for it not just on coats, but on scarves and in details like lapels and boots. If you’re an animal lover, or can’t spring for the real thing, there’s lots of great faux shearling alternatives. Some female trends for winter to embrace include big earrings and brooches. Think the 80s or even more vintage. You don’t have to invest in an expensive pair to take advantage of this fun trend. Scour eBay and Etsy to find this look at affordable prices and create your own individual style. We are also seeing lots of long gloves. What a great dramatic look with a three-quarter length jacket or dress: not only will they keep your arms warm but there will be chic as well. Try throwing a bracelet (or bracelets) on top of the glove for a glam look.

IT MUST LOOK GREAT ON YOU (LOOK IN A MIRROR AND BE HONEST). If your wardrobe does not satisfy all three of these things, you need to either tailor it, or let it go.

Remember to have fun, and not to freak out, there are plenty of trends to go around!

When organizing your closet for the winter, store your spring and summer wardrobe in another closet or in protective boxes that fit nicely away under your bed. This will give you more room and make it easier to distinguish what will be appropriate to wear during the colder months.

Organize your clothes according to the way your mind works. If your mind works with all of the skirts being in one place, do that, if you need to separate them further by skirt length, do that. I suggest always folding sweaters as hangers leave marks on the shoulders and will stretch them. Wash jeans as infrequently as possible, inside out, in cold water and hang to dry. For your first washing of dark denim, add one capful of white vinegar to set the colour.

CREDIT: MARGARET HOWELL

When doing a closet purge (which you should do twice a year) make three piles: one is to keep, two is to tailor and three is to donate. While doing this, make a list of fill-ins that will help bring outfits together. For instance, a great skirt that is missing a top would go on the list and a great dress that is missing accessories and shoes would make the list.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO ACTING? I started when I was about 6 in Dallas, Texas where I was born. It was just for fun, but I developed a passion for it quickly. I started doing commercials and short films, and eventually an agent who convinced my family it would be a good idea to try LA for a few months. It was going well so a few months turned into 12 years. TELL US ABOUT YOUR ROLL IN ‘CHASING LIFE’? I play Brenna Carver. She is the younger sister of April Carver, and a teenager getting through high school. She’s proud to be bisexual and stands up for herself and what is right. She’s changed so much from the first episode and I think her love interests along the way on top of family issues has been a big part of her maturing journey. HAS BEING A PART OF ‘CHASING LIFE’ CHANGED YOUR LIFE? Yeah, I think jobs can change you or your life briefly or drastically, but I feel like I’ve learned a lot in the past few years working on ‘Chasing Life’. Even though I’ve been working half my life, there’s always so much more to learn. It’s endless and I hope to keep getting the opportunity to learn. I know what I like in a director now. I’ve learned a lot about my own work ethic and what I like. This show makes you think and it’s made me feel very grateful. I’ve met some amazing friends because of it. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE ROLE TO DATE? Playing Abby Boyd in ‘Disconnect’ was a dream for me. From the cast to the style of filming. I fought tooth and nail for that role. I loved everything about it and I felt challenged. I love a good challenge. It was and still is an important story to tell. So if you catch it on HBO, make sure to watch it! The story covers the nasty parts of social media and encourages people to look up and be present. The internet can be the best and worst thing sometimes. DO YOU PREFER ACTING IN MOVIES OR TELEVISION SHOWS? There’s beauty in both. I really don’t think I can pick. I love filming a crazy indie film and I love the stability and on-set family you build while working on television. I just hope I get a good mix of both in my career. I never want to be bored.

NAME SOME BEAUTY PRODUCTS THAT YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT? Oil blotters! Any kind, really. I’m constantly “dewy”. The ‘Chasing Life’ set got me addicted to this Christian Dior rose lip balm called “Créme De Rose”. I love and hate them for that. My sweet boyfriend knows I would never buy it myself (I like good deals) so he went out and got me 2 of them so I’m stocked up for a little bit. WHO HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE ACTOR TO WORK ALONGSIDE AND WHY? I’ve loved having Rebecca Schull as my grandma, Emma, on ‘Chasing Life’. Because I pry it out of her, she spouts her wisdom to me at lunch and in-between takes and it’s special. She’s given me a lot of good life advice and we still talk on the phone every now and then. She’s a spectacular lady and I’ve felt lucky to have her as a scene partner and surrogate grandma for a few years. WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST ABOUT TEXAS? The food! My aunt and cousins too. I miss a good thunder storm. We used to watch storms from our back porch. I definitely don’t miss the tornadoes though. NAME A SONG THAT YOU TURN UP EVERY TIME IT’S ON. ‘Dream a Little Dream of Me’ by the Mamas and the Papas. It’s so beautiful, especially when it’s played loudly. DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE. I don’t think I have a set style. It’s really whatever I’m in the mood for that day. I always like to have a vintage feel. I love the 60’s and the 70’s. For me it’s important to feel comfortable, effortless and practical. I like to have fun with clothes. It’s how I express myself. DO YOU HAVE A GUILTY PLEASURE? Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. I’ve been known to purchase 15 boxes in a season. WHAT DOES 2016 HOLD FOR YOU? It’s a mystery I guess. We’re waiting to hear on a season 3 and I have a of couple other projects being talked about. The unexpected life of an actor. I just hope my friends and family stay happy and healthy. I’ll continue to raise awareness for autoimmune diseases.

INGREDIENTS •

1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar

2 tablespoons superfine sugar

¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled

½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

12 large eggs

1½ cups fresh apple cider

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

1 large loaf of tender white bread, cut into eight 1-inchthickslices, then cut diagonally in half

Clarified Butter, as needed

Softened unsalted butter, for serving

Warm pure maple syrup, for serving

Sliced bananas, for serving

Blueberries, for serving

Walnuts, toasted

DIRECTIONS 1. Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F. Thoroughly heat a griddle or a large skillet over medium heat. 2. To make the streusel: Whisk the flour, brown sugar, superfine sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Mix in the butter and vanilla with your fingertips until combined and crumbly. Transfer to a shallow baking dish. 3. To make the French toast: In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, cider, vanilla, and nutmeg. Pour through a fine-mesh sieve into a shallow bowl. 4. Pierce the bread slices all over with a fork. Add a few bread slices to the egg mixture and turn until evenly soaked. Transfer to the dish with the streusel and coat both sides of each slice, patting to help the streusel adhere. 5. Brush the griddle or skillet with clarified butter. Add the slices of bread in a single layer, spacing them 1 inch apart, and cook until the undersides are golden brown, about 3 minutes. Turn and cook until the other sides are golden, 2 to 3 more minutes. Stand each piece of French toast on its cut side and cook for 1 minute. Transfer to a parchment paper– lined half-sheet pan. Repeat with the remaining bread, egg mixture, and streusel. 6. Bake the French toast until slightly puffed and cooked through, 7 to 10 minutes. Serve immediately on warmed plates, passing softened butter, warm syrup, bananas, blueberries, and walnuts, if using, on the side.

INGREDIENTS RED SAUCE •

2 tablespoons Clarified Butter

1 medium red bell pepper (5 ounces)

cored, seeded, and cut into 1/8-inch-wide strips

(see Cook’s Note on page 241)

1 small onion (3 ounces; 85 grams), finely chopped

1 scallion, finely chopped

1½ tablespoons finely chopped shallots

1 medium garlic clove, minced

1 cup (240 grams) canned diced tomatoes in thick puree

⅓ cup (75 grams) water

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh oregano

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

Fine sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

12 large eggs

8 teaspoons Clarified Butter (page 54)

4 ounces (114 grams) Monterey Jack or extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded (1 cup)

½ cup (121 grams) sour cream

Chopped fresh chives, for garnish

DIRECTIONS 1. To make the red sauce: In a medium saucepan, heat the clarified butter over medium heat. Add the bell pepper and onion and cook, stirring often, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the scallion, shallots, and garlic and cook until the shallots are tender, about 2 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes, water, oil, oregano, and sugar and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and simmer until slightly thickened, about 15 minutes. Keep warm over low heat. (The sauce can be cooled to room temperature, covered, and refrigerated for up to 2 days. Reheat before using.) 2. Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 200°F. 3. In a medium bowl, using an immersion (stick) blender or whisk, beat the eggs until completely combined. Strain the eggs into another bowl to remove any thick strands of chalazae. 4. In a nonstick medium skillet, heat 2 teaspoons clarified butter over medium-high heat until hot. If you have two nonstick skillets, make 2 omelets at a time. Add . cup eggs, but do not stir until a bubble appears in the center of the pan. Using a silicone spatula, stir the eggs with a quick circular motion for 10 seconds, then reduce the heat to medium, wait for the bubble to appear again, and stir for another 10 seconds. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to cook until the eggs on top are slightly runny. Using the spatula, gently pull the edges of the omelet away from the pan. 5. Give the pan a little shake to free the omelet from the bottom, then flip the omelet over to the other side with a gentle upward motion of your wrist. Cook for 15 seconds. Flip the omelet again and slide it halfway out of the pan onto a warm plate. Place . cup cheese on that part of the omelet. Fold the rest of the omelet over onto the plate, gently shaping it into a half-moon. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm in the oven while you use the remaining clarified butter, eggs, and cheese to make 3 more omelets. 6 To serve, cut a 2-inch-long slit in the center of each omelet. Spread each slit open to make a pocket and spoon 2 tablespoons sour cream into the pocket. Then top the omelets with the red sauce. Sprinkle with chives and serve immediately.

industry insider with BY JENNIFER STEELE

Lori Hutchinson – or more formally, The Caketress – is a refreshing reminder that cakes are a universal form of art. Renowned for her skill, her haute couture cake designs, and her ethos that all cakes should be one-of-a-kind, Hutchinson has earned praise from the likes of Harper’s Bazaar, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Brides – all while cultivating a strong, global fanbase. With the combination of her social media presence and artistry has led to international opportunities that include everything from an appearance on the Food Network Challenge to a welcome place in the Dubai wedding community. 2014 alone has seen The Caketress teach her signature skills and create cakes in four continents, while Hutchinson still stands as one of the few cake artists to have been flown across the world to design and create towering wedding cakes. Of course, this is only the beginning. On top of inspiring her students to find their own approaches and styles as cake designers, The Caketress will continue to challenge herself and any limitations that surround the cake industry. WHEN AND HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN YOUR CAREER? WHAT GOT YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A PASTRY CHEF? I started my career as a cake designer by accident a little over a decade ago. While having aspiration to be a fashion designer, I found myself dabbling in”dressing” cupcakes as a hobby. Eventually one of those cupcakes got in the hands of a head chef of a local hotel and insisted I created his wedding cakes, and then referred the hotel’s clientele. WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO COMBINE FASHION WITH BAKING? DO YOU FIND IT HAS HELPED YOUR BUSINESS? These days, events are extensions of the client’s style, so it makes sense to incorporate the two. I love sitting down with a new client and noticing how they express themselves and in my head I’m tailoring an edible masterpiece in celebration of that. As a designer, I’m always in awe of how fashion designers can take the same fabric techniques and create something fresh and exciting. I’m never short of inspiration when I look to fashion and create my own sweet interpretation. I have found that following fashion has helped my business because the designs are current. I don’t really look to the cake industry for inspiration and it has helped me stand out internationally.

FROM WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FOR NEW IDEAS AND PASTRY CONCEPTS? Fashion, travel, architecture and art. HAVE YOU WORKED FOR ANYONE FAMOUS IN THE PAST? I have created designs for royalty but I can’t disclose who. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST INTERESTING PROJECT TO DATE? I’m always challenging myself, and because of that, I find the next cake to be the most interesting. However, flying 14 hours to create towering designs in Dubai has always been interesting. I have to work within tight timelines and dealing with hundreds of delicate details in a challenging climate can be stressful and exciting at the same time. WHO ARE YOUR MUSES AND IDOLS IN THIS BUSINESS? The talented Georgina Chapman is up there for me as a absolute design role model. And in my industry, NYC’s Ron Ben Isreal. He is an absolute perfectionist to the point where he creates the standards.

DO YOU FIND YOUR UNIQUE SPIN ON BAKING HAS GIVEN YOU A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE? IF SO, WHY? It has helped me stand out and build a following internationally, but honestly I don’t really pay attention to competition. I create custom tailored cakes with a particular style so I’m honoured when someone likes my work and commissions a cake. Finding a cake that fits an event should be no different than finding the right designer for an outfit. WHO ARE YOUR MAIN CLIENTELE AND WHERE IS YOUR MARKET? For years my clients were mostly couples commissioning wedding cakes for some of the most elegant weddings in Toronto and Muskoka, but now I am designing mostly for very large opulent weddings and events in the United Arab Emirates. With all the competition out there, how do you keep ahead of the game? As with any luxury product it is important to maintain a high level of customer service and product, and I plan to keep evolving in those areas. IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS? Each cake I make is like a business card at an event so it’s very important to create the best cake with both design and flavour every time. I do not really

advertise much but I do keep a transparent face to my business with social media such as Facebook and Instagram. I absolutely love how social media has evolved and it’s not just about posting a photo, but more of a stylized look book. Within a click people across the globe can see the design that was literally just created. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 5-10 YEARS? I aspire to create designer cakes that can be purchased as easily and with the same experience received as in the fashion industry. I also want to continue to push my industry to create a more exciting experience in purchasing a cake. WHAT IS YOUR MOST FAVOURITE AND LEAST FAVOURITE ASPECT OF WHAT YOU DO? I have enjoyed traveling around the globe doing what I love. I feel very fortunate. My least favourite would be when I work very hard and take risks to create something, whether it be a technique that’s never been done before and it gets replicated everywhere within months. While I know that’s a compliment to the design, it can feel like people are taking a piece of me and my vision, but that’s the life of a designer.

69

BECOMING MORE COMFORTABLE

BY CAITLYN MCCONNELL FROM WWW.LOVESEXANDMARRIAGEBLOG.COM

F

or years, I hated 69ing. Too young and too insecure about my body, I was uncomfortable being exposed and having my most private parts on display. And then I met my husband. The visual creature that he is, 69ing was (and still is) one of his favorite ways to pass the time. Oh, I’d comply, straddling myself across over his mouth, but I was always uncomfortable, still too shy to be able to relax with my vagina and ass only inches from his face. And then came babies. Three of them. And 80 pounds of extra weight that lingered on my body for years too long. With all of that, 69ing again became a taboo act, with me too unhappy with myself to be able to let go and simply enjoy. But slowly the weight drifted off and my body confidence started to return, along with the acceptance of the signs of aging and life that showed on my body.

And for the first time in my life, I enjoyed the mutual pleasure 69ing gave. I could finally relax and turn myself over to the give and take that it created. Still, if I thought too much about it, my ass cheeks spread only inches from his face, my mind would again get in the way. As these thoughts passed through my mind, I decided I should compile a list of ways for women to feel more comfortable when 69ing. After all, if you’re not comfortable, you’re not going to enjoy yourself. And if you’re not enjoying yourself, what the fuck’s the point?

ING

So without further ado, here’s 10 ways to help you relax and enjoy the fine art of 69ing. BE CLEAN. One of the main concerns women often have with 69ing, and oral sex in general, is that they feel their vaginas are unclean. Add in a little bit of spread open ass cheeks, and many women are running to the nearest bathroom with wet wipes. Ladies, relax. If you’d like to 69 and you’re concerned that your nether regions aren’t as clean as the rest of you (chances are they’re cleaner), simply take a shower before heading to bed. Wash yourself, twice if you must, then put the thought behind you. Your ass and pussy are clean and ready to be devoured. SHAVE YOUR LIPS. Whether you’ve got a baldy, a landing strip, or a jungle bush, shaving your lips can do wonders for your partner’s view during a 69. Not only does it smooth things out for him – or her – to take your lips into his mouth or between his teeth, but it opens your whole vulva and creates a heavenly vision. If you really get into it and like to ride against his face, shaving can help prevent both pube floss and bush rug burn. BE ON TOP. Although there’s mixed thoughts on this, I believe if you’re uncomfortable while 69ing, it’s best to be on top. When the female’s on the bottom, she has little control as to the depth and speed of the penis in her mouth. Plus when boys start sweating, it can drip down their butt cheeks, over their balls, and onto your face. I know it’s not a pretty sight, but after you 69 enough times in the heat of July, you learn some of these things. By staying on top, you get to decide where and how deep his penis goes, while he gets to see you spread wide and glorious. STAY ON YOUR KNEES. Although it’s tempting, and perfectly okay, to grind down on his face when he’s licking your vagina during 69ing, if you’re hesitant about the position and slightly uncomfortable doing it, staying on your knees can help. You can keep yourself above him if you’re afraid of suffocating him (you won’t though, even if your grind away, I promise) or too uneasy to let him really get up in there. My guess is once it starts and you get in to it, he’ll be wrapping his arms around your hips and pulling you down closer to him. But for now, if you’d feel better, it’s fine to just stay on your knees.

HAVE A GLASS OF WINE. OR THREE. While alcohol and sex sometimes do not mix, having a glass or two of wine can help you relax and feel more at ease before heading to the bedroom. The wine settles your nerves and lowers your inhibitions, perhaps allowing you to forget about why you don’t like 69ing and instead find a whole bunch of reasons why you love it. REMEMBER IT’S GIVE AND TAKE. The best part of 69ing is the give and take of mutual pleasure. It’s okay if you become overwhelmed with pleasure and your mouth drifts from his penis. If you can keep a hand on it, stroking him as you cum, that’s great, but if you can’t, it’s not a big deal either. Just remember to return the favor once you’ve calmed down. HAVE HIM START FIRST. If you’re anxious, or if it takes you longer than him to get warmed up, have him go down on you before you start 69 ing. That way when it’s time for you to roll up on top, you’re already randy and ready to go. This also means you’ll be more into the position, more into getting pleasure, and more into licking his penis. It’s a winwin situation. USE YOUR HANDS. Really ladies, if you aren’t already using your hands when you’re going down on your guy, you, and he, are missing out. Learn how to lengthen the stroke of your mouth with your hand and sucking his dick suddenly gets much, much better. Using your hands is important, especially in 69ing. That way when you’re so overcome with cumming and you can’t breathe with him in your mouth, you can still pleasure him with your hands. And vice versa. HAVE FUN. Remember what it’s all about, feeling good and having fun. If 69ing stresses you out so much you need a Xanax, well then don’t worry about it. But if you’re just a little hesitant and unsure, then find a good looking partner and head to the bedroom. Relax, have fun, and lick some hard cock. What more could you ask for? Although 69 ing isn’t for everyone, I hope these ten hints and tips help you relax and give the position a chance. You never know, it may just become one of your favorite things too.

DO IT BY CANDLELIGHT. One of the reasons women don’t like 69ing is because they feel exposed. Lower that feeling by turning off the lights and lighting some candles instead. Candlelight makes skin look smooth and soft, and while it allows you to see, it masks flaws and imperfections. With candles burning, he won’t be able to see the few hairs you missed or the little bump on your behind and you can stop worrying about it and enjoy what his tongue’s doing to your clit instead.

BISMA EIGHT BY PEONY LIM WWW.PEONYLIM.COM

DESTINATION: BISMA EIGHT, UBUD, BALI, INDONESIA

here is nothing better than staying in a brand new resort. Discovering somewhere that you know is completely fresh and vibrant makes a hotel seem even more exclusive and luxurious. Bisma Eight is a brand new experience in Bali’s chic Ubud neighbourhood. Set down a ruff and ready track, which is lined with little cafes, hotels and rice paddy fields, you eventually come to this modernist design beacon. Bold polished concrete and brass

greet you, giving you a suggestion of the aesthetic inside. This hotel has a refreshingly current take on hotel design. With the atmosphere of a New York City loft and the design touches of Copenhagen’s laid back cool, Bisma Eight reminds you that not all resorts require white linen to be cool. Accented in orange, blue and the lush green surroundings, you feel nestled away in this peaceful oasis.

The hotel restaurant, Copper Kitchen, is incredibly cool, and offers an international take on asian flavours. Beautifully presented and well worth a trip even if you aren’t staying with them. Breakfast and dinner on the roof terrace is a real treat, where you have views across the property, central courtyard garden, infinity pool, jungle and the rice paddy fields, enough to entertain the most discerning diner. Although for me the real highlight is the pool. One of the best designs I have seen in years. This infinity pool finishes with a vista of jungle and sky. The pool menu is delicious,

I was addicted to these cucumber juices and cauliflower croquettes. It was ridiculous easy to watch hours drift away across the water. Brass and copper hardware around the hotel, as well as great interior design details make this hotel so exceptional. I found myself constantly seeing new corners of interest and admiring little areas. Although the Hotel was full when I stayed I only saw about four other couples. It’s remarkably well designed to offer privacy and discretion. I also wanted to add a thank you to the wonderful Luxe Nomad for arranging my stay. Why not book your stay now?
