Poulsbo in the News Reorganization In February, Mayor Becky Erickson reorganized the Planning and Building Department. Building functions have been removed from Planning and combined with the Engineering Department. The City Engineer is now the Building Official. In addition to these changes, the Mayor has added new functions to planning; We are now called the Planning and Economic Development Department. The goal of these changes is to be intentional about business recruitment and retention. On April 1, 2015 we will be unveiling our Economic Development website and the Poulsbo Profile. The Poulsbo Profile provides statistics and data that is specific to Poulsbo including housing, working, and environmental information. The Profile is part of a three pronged package which will help serve people who are looking to relocate or start a business in Poulsbo. In addition to the reorganization, the City Council approved a 10 month contract with Jan Harrison. She is the former Chamber of Commerce executive director and will be meeting with local and prospective businesses. New Development in Olhava On March 20, 2015, Planning received a new site plan for a proposed Starbucks, carwash, and retail space in College Market Place. The proposed project is located next to Wendy’s on lots 3H and 3I. The proposed plan includes a Starbucks drive thru which possibly would replace the existing Starbucks store just down the road. We will keep you update as the review process progresses.

Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal Poulsbo City Hall will now be a pick up location for print copies of the Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal. Print copies are distributed at the beginning of each month. To get your copy at City Hall, come to the 2nd floor/ 3rd Ave entrance, the distribution rack is located by the public notice board.
