hands-on learning Research and service learning At PSU, learning takes place both in and out of the classroom, throughout the region and around the world. Whether you’re a first-year student or a senior, and regardless of your major, you’ll have opportunities to apply your coursework to the real world through research projects and a wide variety of short-term and long-term service-learning projects that combine community service with learning. PSU students have examined water quality from samples they’ve collected from local rivers, developed business plans to help area businesses, analyzed the biological clocks of horseshoe crabs at the seacoast, studied media impact on childhood obesity, presented research on Capitol Hill, discussed social issues with community leaders in the Dominican Republic, and so much more.
