PREAMBLE / VORWORT Armour-plated bodywork, ingenious weapons systems, exceptional manoeuvrability and remote control: these are all features that this construction manual simply cannot provide. The fictional Batmobile famously driven by comic hero Batman has always had its avid fans. Originally it was a compact two-seater with just enough room for Robin to take his place beside Batman, but over time it grew into a massive, black monstrosity. Eventually, the bat-like design disappeared completely. However, our construction manual uses classic elements from the original batinspired design, such as tailfins and visible turbines. Underneath the bonnet you will find impressive soap box engineering technology. The brakes and steering are operated using Bowden cables, which means that expensive steering rollers are not necessary. This low-slung soap box has a very sporty look, and it also handles very well on the road. The chassis and bodywork are made in two separate parts, and this makes it easy to carry out repairs and to transport the vehicle. There is ample space for a driver up to the height of 160cm. The construction materials are available from any DIY store or carpentry shop and you can have the initial rough cut done there too. The details are then finished off later with a jigsaw and drill. Gepanzerte Karosserie, Raketenantrieb, ausgefeilte Waffensysteme, außergewöhnliche Manövrierbarkeit und eine Fernsteuerung sind alles Attribute, mit denen der hier vorliegende Bauplan nicht aufwarten kann. Das Batmobil, als fiktives Fahrzeug des Comic-Helden Batman, hat schon immer Fans in seinen Bann gezogen. Ursprünglich als Zweisitzer, damit auch Robin seinen Platz darin hat, wandelte es sich im Laufe der Zeit zum düsteren, komplett in schwarz gehaltenen Ungetüm. Das fledermausartige Design verschwand vollständig. Unser Bauplan hingegen bedient sich der klassischen Designelemente, wie sichtbare Turbine und Heckflossen im Fledermaus-Design. Unter der Haube versteckt sich feinste Seifenkisten-Technik. Bremse und Lenkung werden über Bowdenzüge bedient, was teure Umlenkrollen überflüssig macht. Die tiefergelegte Seifenkiste hat nicht nur ein sportliches Aussehen, sondern auch eine satte Straßenlage. Chassis und Karosserie sind voneinander getrennt, was die Wartung und den Transport erleichtert. Fahrer mit einer Größe bis 160 cm finden hier bequem Platz. Das Baumaterial gibt es im Baumarkt und/oder beim Schreiner, wo auch der erste Zuschnitt erfolgen kann. Details werden dann mit der Stichsäge und Bohrmaschine herausgearbeitet. The materials specified in the parts list are proposals. You can use other materials on your own authority if it does not affect the stability and security. If you use other material or dimension it will be necessary to revise the construction. Bei den in den Stücklisten angegebenen Materialien handelt es sich um Empfehlungen. Sie können nach eigenem Ermessen andere Materialien verwenden, wenn dies nicht die Stabilität und Sicherheit beeinträchtigt. Falls Sie andere Materialien oder Abmessungen verwenden, muss die Gesamtkonstruktion gegebenenfalls angepasst werden.

It´s up to you which type of connection (Wood clue, hot clue or screws) you use. It is important that all connections are stable and constant quality. Welche Verbindungsart Sie verwenden (Holzleim, Heißkleber, Schrauben oder anderes) liegt in Ihrem Ermessen. Wichtig ist, dass alle Verbindungen stabil sind und bleiben.

After final assembly, the position of the brake must be shown as above. If other wheels or tires are used with a different diameter, the position of the brake must be adjusted accordingly. Nach der Endmontage muss die Position der Bremse den o.g. Maßen entsprechen. Sollten andere Räder bzw. Reifen mit abweichendem Durchmesser verwendet werden, muss die Position der Bremse entsprechend angepasst werden.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR / ÜBER DEN AUTOR PETER MACHO, born on April 17, 1959 in Bad Homburg, working as a CAD designer and IT Service Provider. 2005 designed and built his first soapbox - a Ferrari. Since then, no longer lets go of this hobby. He built countless soapboxes and drove many races with his two sons. He belongs to the events team held annually fun crate race in Oberursel. He is married and lives with his two sons in Oberursel. The design drawings were combined into blueprints and partially published. In his blog www.orschelerseifenkistenrennen.de he regularly reports on race and related issues.
PETER MACHO, geboren am 17. April 1959 in Bad Homburg, arbeitet als CAD-Konstrukteur und IT-Dienstleister. 2005 konstruierte und baute er seine erste Seifenkiste - einen Ferrari. Seither lässt ihn dieses Hobby nicht mehr los. Es wurden unzählige Seifenkisten gebaut und viele Rennen mit seinen beiden Söhnen gefahren. Er gehört zum Veranstaltungsteam des alljährlich stattfindenden Spaßkistenrennens in Oberursel. Er ist verheiratet und lebt mit seinen beiden Söhnen in Oberursel. Die Konstruktionszeichnungen wurden zu Bauanleitungen zusammengefasst und teilweise veröffentlicht. In seinem Blog www.orschelerseifenkistenrennen.de berichtet er regelmäßig über Rennen sowie verwandte Themen.
