The Sacrament of the Sick – ideally celebrated in community, will be Thursday, Oct 17, 2:30 pm. Those who are seriously ill, those of advanced age, those undergoing serious surgery or treatment and those in danger of death are invited. All who are baptized Catholics are candidates for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Let us joyfully celebrate the healing of the Lord through His Church.

Prayer for Priests Eternal Father We lift up all priests of the world. Sanctify them. Heal them and guide them. Mold them into the likeness and holiness of Your Son, Jesus, the eternal priest. May their lives be pleasing to you, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Clergy. In the holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen

October Rosary

Knights of Columbus sponsors praying the Rosary every Wednesday evening at 6:45PM outside in front of the flower garden and the statues of the Blessed Mother and St. Bernadette. October 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. In case of inclement weather, we will move inside to the main foyer of the church, in front of the statue of the Blessed Mother. All are welcome participate. God bless our parish family.

Waste Management and Environment

After the 7 p.m. Mass on October 8th, the CWL is hosting waste strategy educators to present the goals the City of Kingston has set in terms of waste management and the environment. Learn about our future Waste Management Plan. All members of the parish are welcome to attend.

Thank you from your Fundraising Committee. The committee extends thanks to all those who attended our “Evening of Tasting” event. Our sincere thanks to all those donors of financial contributions and silent auction items. The event was a success and the evening was enjoyed by all in attendance. Thanks to all volunteers for their help prior to and during the vent. We could not have done it without you. Profit from this event totalled $8735.17

Fish Fry

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Knights of Columbus is holding a Fish Fry, featuring Mike Mundell’s fish, on Friday, November 22. The price is $15/person. Children under 10 free. Life Chain: Sunday, October 6, 2:00-3:00p.m. -the Annual Life Chain will be held across Canada. In Kingston we will gather at the Newlands Pavilion (next to Murney TowerKing St.) at 1:45 p.m. After opening prayers, we will walk to King St. across from Kingston General Hospital where more than 39,000 preborn babies have been deliberately killed by

abortion. This is a prayerful, silent event remembering all the victims of abortion. Please come and bring friends and families for one hour of silent prayer and witness to the sanctity of human life. More info call Campaign Life Coalition at 613-389-4472 or 613- 382-1084

Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School Early Progress Report Cards Early

Semester Report Cards will be distributed on Friday, October 11th. Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Thursday, October 17th and Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 3:30 – 5:30 pm and 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Please go to the HCToday website for instructions on how to book a parent/teacher interview.

RND Report Card Dates - On Friday, October 11th, students will receive Early

Diagnostic Reports for semester one. Parent/Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Thursday, October 17th and Wednesday, October 23rd.

Holy Cross Jamaica Mission Bake Sale

After each mass over the weekend of October 19/20, the students from Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School will be having a bake sale. All money raised will be donated to a house build in Jamaica, when the students travel there in February. Please come out and support our youth.

Sacraments Liturgical Assignments are posted on the bulletin boards and on the parish website Holy Communion to those in the Parish who are not well enough to come to Sunday Mass, please contact Sandra Belanger: 613-384-1489. Cancellation – Sr. Nuala Kenny Workshop, scheduled for Oct 17th Due to health

reasons, Sr Nuala Kenny’s workshop, scheduled for October 17th at the Catholic Pastoral Centre has been cancelled. We are hoping to reschedule at some point in the future.
