Irish Dinner
On the eve of St. Patrick’s Day, March 16, we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy an Irish-style dinner in our hall. We will also enjoy some fine music by Mary’s Merry Minstrels, who are Kingston & area musicians led by well-known local fiddler Mary A Kennedy. It’s a fund-raiser for our parish buildings. Dear Evan Hansen Musical
On Wednesday, June 12, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish will sponsor a bus trip to Toronto to see the Musical Dear Evan Hansen, the Broadway Hit that has clutched the hearts of thousands with its story and beautiful soundtrack. Focussing on the disastrous effect of neglected mental health in our youth, Dear Evan Hansen brings a poignant and thought provoking message to the stage. Laugh, cry and be moved with this tale that will stay with you for weeks. Tickets are $215./person and includes the return trip to Toronto, dinner at the Mandarin Restaurant, Pickering, an orchestra theatre seat and a $40. tax receipt. The Royal Canadian College of Organists Kingston Centre offers scholarships
for talented pianists of all ages who would like to be introduced to, and develop their playing skills on the pipe organ. Scholarships provide 10 hours of free organ lessons with a qualified instructor. The Kingston Centre receives financial support for these scholarships from the National RCCO office, local individuals and churches, and raises funds by sponsoring centre events. Each student has the opportunity to play in the student concert in late-winter and is invited to attend all local RCCO events. The application deadline is March 31.
