May you both continue to grow in the truth that marriage is not merely living for each other but joining hands to serve God. May you have a great spiritual purpose in life. May you not expect perfection in each other. Perfection belongs only to God. May you minimize each other’s weaknesses and be swift to praise and magnify each other’s strengths. May you always see each other through love’s kind and patient eyes. God bless your lives together. May you have enough tears to keep you tender, enough hurt to keep you human, enough failures to keep you tightly clutching God’s hand, and enough blessings to affirm that you are indeed God’s children.
May you never take each other for granted but always experience that breathless wonder that exclaims, “Out of all this world, you have chosen me”. The Stations of the Cross are prayed in the presence of May your life together be such that at the end of life you will the Blessed Sacrament Mass, Wed. – Sat., before Mass be found still hand in hand, still thanking God for each other, still faithful servants of our Heavenly Father – until at last one shall lay the other into the arms of God. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – The Fundraising Committee of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish is pleased to offer a bus trip to Toronto on Wed. May 27 to see Ship of Dreams, TITANIC, the Musical, at the Princess of Wales Theatre. This production promises to be very popular and tickets, already selling, will be in high demand. The bus will leave Our Lady of Lourdes parking lot at 8 AM and return at approximately 9:30 PM. The price is $175 per person and includes the bus trip, an excellent seat for the show, dinner at the newly renovated Mandarin Restaurant in Pickering and a $40 tax receipt. This DVD series provides a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Mass in order to lead to a richer and more fruitful worship experience. Join us in the Parish Hall, beginning Feb 25, at 7pm for the “five” Wednesdays during Lent so that we may explore the biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience at Mass. No registration is required, nor are you required to attend all 5 sessions. In the spirit of Lent, donations of non-perishable food items for the Food Bank would be greatly appreciated.
Consultation for the Synod on the Family 2015 A consultation is underway to prepare for the 2015 Ordinary Synod on the Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and the Contemporary World. Everyone is invited to participate. Online survey www.romancatholic.kingston.on.ca . For those unable to access the survey electronically, parishes have been asked to make available, on request, hard copies of the questionnaire and the Preparatory Document (Linementa). Copies are also available from the Pastoral Centre (613) 548-4461. Responses by regular mail are to be sent to the Archdiocese of Kingston 390 Palace Rd. Kingston, ON K7L 4T3. All surveys are to be submitted by March 6. World Day of Prayer The World Day of Prayer will be held at 2 pm on Friday March 6 at the Kingston West Free Methodist Church with an alternate bad weather date of March 13.
