Advent Confessions

There will be extra times of confession. As throughout the entire year, confessions will be heard one half hour before weekday Masses and before Sunday morning 9:30 Mass. We hope these extra times will prove to be convenient for all who wish to celebrate the Lord’s Mercy before Christmas.

Volunteers Needed

The Hotel Dieu Hospital site of Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is recruiting volunteers to spend time with patients and families in clinic and postsurgical areas, at the Info. Desk in the main lobby, and in their Boutique, Café and Snack Cart. Every interaction improves the patient and family experience. Volunteers are expected to commit to one 2 to 3-hour shift per week and we are open to discussion with snowbirds, cottagers, travelers, and other schedule alternatives. You can learn more by visiting the Careers & Volunteers section at www.hoteldieu.com or by calling 613-548-2359 (select option 1).

The Catholic Women’s Leadership Foundation (CWLF) is accepting applications for its 2019 Leadership Program for Canadian Catholic women. The program will be facilitated by the Providence School of Transformative Leadership and Spirituality at Saint Paul University in Ottawa. For more information about CWLF and the Leadership Program, and to complete an application form, visit www.cwlfcanada.ca

Property Committee 2018 has been a busy year with project expenditures nearing the budgeted $50k. Two roof projects at $40k (lower hall roof and the east roof of the rectory) have been the major items. Other projects completed, include the replacement of the dish cupboard in the hall kitchen, a new closet near the sacristy, and handrails at five different locations. We are blessed with several members who used their many skills and expertise, and donated time, in saving about $15k by doing many minor tasks themselves rather than having these tasks contracted. In 2019 we are monitoring the roof; the cost will be abour $85k to replace. “We are a;ways in need of volunteers to help on out tasks or projects. If you can help, please let Father or myself know. Thank you for all the donations and assistance. Richard Hoffman (Chairman)
