THE INVENTORY OF THE MACHINE SECTOR IS ON HAND Turkish Machinery Federation announced to the public ‘The Machinery Sector Inventory Survey’ that aims to determine the general status and product profile of machinery manufacturers and exporters to carry out the activities in the sector more systematically.

T

he research conducted by Estima Research and Consulting Company was used to categorize the manufacturers and exporters operating in the machinery sector. In analyses based on firm scales are inventory, interaction and cross-tabulation as well as visual info graphic. An important step had been taken in the preparation of the future strategies of the sector and strengthening the Turkish Machinery in global market with the inventory work prepared in 2006. The target audience of the work, which was performed by using the database of Machinery Exporters Associ-

124

ation (MAİB), was determined to be the managers of decision-makers of the manufacturing companies that operate in the machinery sector, whether or not they are members of MAİB. All interviews were conducted face-to-face as part of the research conducted using sampling techniques. The survey’s data collection stage began on August 2, 2016, following supervisor training. And training meeting was held with 262 firms until September 7th. On 22 December 2016, the data collection stage was completed following data cleansing, data analysis and reporting processes between December 23, 2016 and January 6, 2017. During the sta-

ge of data collection was carried out by a total of 2.500 interviews. In the control and cleansing stage of the collected data was taken in to account the consistency between the response order and consistency of the matrix question types. 20% of the questionnaires completed by each supervisor were confirmed at check-in.
