Students in this class will make their own mountain dulcimers and a fabric bag to carry their dulcimers in. Students will also learn how to tune and play songs on their instruments. This class meets daily for one week and will be held at Nicolet High School. Deadline to sign up is May 17th FIRM so that instrument kits can be ordered. *Materials fee of $60 is due the first day of class and is payable to the instructor.

Adaptive Music: Movement and Melodies

This class is designed for special education children and a parent or caregiver to explore the fun of drumming and movement. Through the tactile use of rhythm instruments and drums, we will experience steady beat movement and rhythmic speech. Social skills and literacy will be reinforced. Instructor has a strong background in adaptive music classes for autism and other special needs. *Caregiver is free.

This class is designed for special education children and a parent or caregiver to explore the fun of movement through space. Through the tactile use of rainbow scarves, colorful canopies, and beanbags, we will experience spatial body awareness. Social skills and literacy will be reinforced. Instructor has a strong background in adaptive music classess for autism and other special needs. *Caregiver is free.

Family Guitars

This class is designed for families to have some good old-fashioned musical fun together! These group guitar lessons will teach beginning note-reading using traditional notation and tablature. We will also learn to play several chords to accompany our singing! The culminating event will be a pot-luck cookout and singa-long, at a location to be determined. The fee is based on a family rate of up to four people in each “unit.� Each person needs to have his or her own acoustic guitar, sized to the participant, and several guitar picks. Each unit needs the book Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book One to share as well as a folding music stand (or two) for home practice. Build A Robot

Students will learn the basic concepts of S.T.E.M. and Robotics as an offshoot of the Nicolet F.E.A.R. Robotics Team. They will work closely with high school student members and teachers to design, build, and manipulate a robot. Projects and tasks are based on engineering will be included in the two-week program.
