Yup Dduk LA Koreatown
Yup Dduk, a famous tteokbokki store from Korea opened a new store in Korean town, LA! The store name, Yup Dduk means bizarre and the food served here is extremely hot! Even people who crave for spicy food drops tears for the most spicy level here. But you will find the delicious taste in the spice, which will make you want more. Add some melted cheese to make it and mild and now you want even more! Mochi, (rice cake) directly shipped from Korea is soft and smooth and is the best! There will be tteokbokki, sausage, egg and some fish cake in a big bowl to make you satisfying. We recommend you eat with onigiri (rice ball) or side dishes that will lessen the spiciness. If you are not a big fan of extremely spicy food, you can also choose mild from menu. It sure is hot but really tasty so please give it a try!

Taiwanese beef noodle is their famous menu here. There is a menu called ‘BDK Hell’ which is way more spicy than the normal beef spicy noodle. Indian restaurant loved by the locals at the South bay area for a long time. They have been serving authentic Indian food for a long period. Of all the menu, we recommend Vindaloo Curry from Goa area which is really spicy. The famous 55 Banggee RAMEN which has been featured by many TV shows and media opened a new store this Januray. You can enjoy Korean Ramen based on Korean food such as Budae Jjigae and bulgogi. Of all the menus, the most spicy one is Maepda myun which directly translates to ‘Spicy noodle’. Noodle is instant noodle which is Korean style and homemade beef bone soup is an important factor to the bowl. Beef soup added with their original seasoning plus flavor of seafood in Maepda myun. こんにちは、 私終活カウンセラー協会代表の武藤頼胡です。 昨年末12月28日、 アメリカ初終活セミナーをトーランスで開催しました。 年末でしたが定員をはるかに超える30名の方にご参加 頂き、 日本の終活事情を勉強していただきました。 感想としてはもっと深く学び、 今後に役立てたいという声をいただきました。 と言う事で、 今月から毎月情報発信をしていきます。 まずは1回目 「日本人の心情」 をお話します。 お葬式に関して。 儀礼の意味は わからないが、 おじいちゃんがやっていたからやる。 このように形骸化となったのが5年前まで。 そして今は効率化の世の中にお いて、 意味のないことはやめようということでお葬式が小さいものになってきています。 人のいのちを感じる場を無くしてしまう と生きることに関しても希薄になってくるのではないだろうか、 私はこんなことを懸念しています。 終活カウンセラーを通して 「い のち」 について考えてもらいたいと思っています。 来月もどうぞ宜しくお願い致します。

Preventing Children’s Cavities Cavities are caused by certain foods (such as sweets) as they multiply the number of bacteria-causing cavities. Reducing the amount of such food eaten helps to prevent cavities. The best way for prevention is through brushing. But learning to brush the correct way is a difficult thing to do. Taking in fluorine helps to make teeth more robust and prevent cavities. Drinking water with fluorine and taking in supplements with fluorine is also quite helpful. This type of prevention is the most effective when the baby teeth come out at the age of 2 until permanent teeth settle in by the ages 11 or 12. Afterwards, it’s very hard to depend on such preventative measures. However, regularly brushing your teeth and reducing the amount of cavity-causing foods, there are children that naturally get cavities. The important thing is to get your teeth checked and prevent those cavities. The OC is home to two Sensitive Sweets bakeries. They are a testament to a mother’s love for her children. Sensitive Sweets’ owner, Melanie Hohman’s two sons are challenged with severe food allergies.Determined to have her sons experience the delights of desserts, Melanie marched into her kitchen and began experimenting with recipes. She didn’t emerge until she had created delicious gluten-free treats, which were also devoid of dairy, egg and soy products. Besides being a treat for the taste buds, Sensitive Sweets’ baked goods (cakes, cupcakes, donuts and breads) are beautiful! Tempura Udon
(for 4 ser vings)
11 oz dried udon noodles 4-3/4 cup Water 1 cup KIKKOMAN HON TSUYU 1 cup KIKKOMAN TEMPURA BAT TER MIX 8 shrimp 1 eggplant 1 sweet potato 1 carrot
4 shiitake mushrooms 4 Japanese shiso (perilla) leaves 1 scallion, sliced, White sesame seeds for garnish
TIP
Shrimp and vegetable tempura take about 2 to 4 minutes to fry. A reduction of hot oil bubbles and gurgling is another way to see that tempura is ready to serve.

<1> Cut off a small portion of the tips of the shrimp tails. Peel off any husk or shell from the body of the shrimp. Carefully devein the shrimp. Flip the shrimp over. Insert 4 to 5 shallow cuts into each shrimp. (This helps to flatten the shrimp and easy to fry.) <2> Cut the eggplant into 4 vertical slices. Cut the sweet potato and carrot on the diagonal into 4 one-third inch slices. Remove the stems of the shiitake mushrooms. Clean the Japanese shiso leaves with water and remove the moisture with paper towels.<3> Pour oil into a deep pot so that it is at least 2 inches high. Heat the oil to 350F. In a large bowl, add 3/4 cup of water and an ice cube into the KIKKOMAN TEMPURA BATTER MIX. Mix well. Dip and coat each shrimp and vegetable in the batter. Fry in the hot oil until golden brown. <4> To make the soup for the noodles: Bring 1 quart of water and KIKKOMAN HON TSUYU to a boil in a pot. <5> In a separate pot, place the dried udon noodles into water. Gently stirring, allow the noodles to come to a boil over medium heat. Take the pot off the stove when the dried noodles are soft and bubbles appear in the pot. (Boil for 6 to 7 mins. Follow package instructions for the best result.) Drain. Divide the noodles and soup into bowls. Arrange the tempura shrimp and vegetables on top. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds if desired.
