The perfect Way to start your weekend in the Hamptons! The sessions consist of coaching and exercises to deepen meditation through the use of sound. The session leader, Jim Owen, is a landscape designer who maintains a daily spiritual practice. Mr. Owen propounds the use of sound vibrations to foster mental alignment with the universe making meditation a true pleasure. Mr. Owen says, “The purpose of using sound before meditation is to allow sound to align the vibrations of the human energy field. Sacred sounds assist the mind in turning inward and focusing on itself.” A member of LongHouse Reserve’s Garden Committee, Mr. Owen also believes in using sound to enhance the spiritual dimension of gardening. The sessions will be held by the Buckminster Fuller Fly's Eye Dome in the quiet of the LongHouse gardens (indoors in case of inclement weather). Attendees should bring a pillow or beach chair. Please make reservations by calling 631.329.3568 or email soundmeditation@longhouse.org. Mon 8/11 & Mon 8/25 Twilight Tour 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Cost is $30 per person or $55 for two, with LongHouse members receiving a per-person discount of $5. By Reservation Only - maximum 15 people per tour. Wandering through LongHouse gardens when you are alone is a very special experience, even on a blustery March day. But on a summer evening as the shadows grow longer, the croaks of the frogs louder, the songs of the birds fade to nothing and twilight gradually makes way for night, the gardens are enchanting, both visually and spiritually. Wine will be served. Abby Jane Brody, a Trustee and member of the Garden Committee of LongHouse and the East Hampton Star's garden columnist, Star Gardener, will lead the group through the gardens to plants that are at their peak and to spaces that are particularly beautiful in the twilight hours. You may either email twilighttours@longhouse.org or telephone 631.329.3568 for your reservations.
