Thursdays 5/17 & 31, 6/7 & 14 Paint with Plants in Flora Wild's Studio GardenTime: 10:00-10:45 am Ages: 2-3 $80 members/ $90 non-members Instructor: Marie French. Your child will explore his/her world of art through plants. Age appropriate art projects that will include painting with plants; marigold & jasmine blossoms make yellow as rose and geranium blossoms make red. Each child will make a tyedyed t-shirt using dyes from plants.You child will even have the opportunity to finger paint with flowers. Classes will take place indoors and outdoors. Friday 5/18, 6/1, 8 & 15 Art in the Garden with Flora Wild 10:00-10:45 am Ages 2-3 $80 members/$90 non-members Instructor: Flora Wild aka Karin Strong. Your child will become a pre-school landscape architect as he/she creates their own garden. Discover worms and how they help the earth. Dig in the dirt and plant your seeds. Construct a mini-greenhouse to plant more seeds in and watch the roots start to grow through a Plexiglas case. Your child will design his/her own stepping stone for the garden. Classes will take place indoors and outdoors. Wed 6/27 - Whirligig Wednesdays! African Jam with Daniel Bailey & Friends. Doors open at 6:00 pm for picnic and the performance is at 6:30 pm. Advance tickets are $10 members, $12 non-members and $15 day of the show after 4:00 pm. Pack a picnic and head over to CMEE every Wednesday for a great performance by children entertainers, held in our Arlene & Alan Alda Amphitheater. We are planning a 3-mile hike, past salt ponds and through forests and open meadows. Mashomack Preserve covers one-third of Shelter Island and is located in the beautiful Peconic Estuary. Sat 6/16 35th ANNIVERSARY BENEFIT EAST END GALA 6:30 pm to midnight In celebration of our 35th Anniversary, Group for the South Fork will host its East End Gala on Saturday, June 16th, 2007, on the grounds of the Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack. As we mark this anniversary, the Group is set to embark on a new horizon with expanded initiatives on the North Fork and across the region under our new name, which will be “Group for the East End”. This East End Gala will take place under tents on the rolling fields of the Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, with Christian Wölffer as the event sponsor. More than 400 guests will join Co-Chairs Ann Colley, Nicole Miller and Kim Taipale. The evening will include a cocktail hour with entertainment and prizes, dinner catered by Robbins-Wolfe Eventeurs, a live auction with James G. SOUTHAMPTON HISTORICAL MUSEUMS AND RESEARCH CENTER 17 Meeting House Lane (631) 283-2494 The Southampton Historical Museum is open year round and housed in the 1843 Rogers Mansion with permanent exhibits of 19th century period rooms, antique toys, old photographs, and 10 historic structures including two barns, a paint shop, one-room school house, carpenters shop. The Research Center has over 10,000 archival materials and reference books on the history of Southampton.
