Their follow-up, Fight Songs, was issued in 1999; the same year, the early-1994 recording Hitchhike to Rhome was reissued on CD, and the mini-album Early Tracks delivered more of the same in 2000. Sat 8/1 Hot Lava 11:00 pm $25 Hot Lava’s molten musical interpretations of The Who, The Rolling Stones,The Replacements, Ryan Adams, and others have scalded hordes of fans from NYC to Amagansett. Sun 8/2 Tom Howie 8:00 pm $15 Tom Howie’s talent lies in his ability to weigh the ups and downs of what is really meaningful in ways that awaken us to our own reality. He confronts his confusion and ours while instilling in us a message of hope. Audiences respond with quiet knowing when he sings about a world he doesn’t completely understand or agree with. Sun 8/2 Fastball 9:30 pm $20 Fastball was formed in 1994 by native Texans Joey Shuffield and Miles Zuniga along with So-Cal transplant Tony Scalzo. Originally called Magneto USA, they were signed in 1995 to Hollywood Records and soon changed their name to Fastball. They released their first full length album,”Make Your Mama Proud” in 1996 and toured extensively throughout the US with little notice. After a year and a half they recorded a second album entitled, “All The Pain Money Can Buy”. Before it’s release in Spring 1998, US radio had latched on to a catchy little ditty called “The Way” and it was clear that Fastball had a hit on their hands. Songs like “Sooner or Later”, “Fire Escape” and “Out Of My Head” followed and the band toured around the world. At home, copies of All The Pain Money Can Buy reached the platinum, 1 million sales mark by the end of the year. Sun 8/2 The Roastbeef Curtains 11:00 pm $10 In some stretch of time between Jugglin Time and The Aggressive Edge, 3 guys met and played some riddims. All 3 guys had one common goal: Other peoples pleasure! "For fans of reggae/dub/rock." Mon 8/3 The Danny Kalb Trio 8:00 pm $15 Danny has performed as a solo artist and in trio settings up and down the East Coast in recent years, and this is the part of his career that’s inspired I’m Gonna Live The Life I Sing About. Gritty blues, originals, and standards, his touch on the guitar is as exciting and individual as ever. From folk to blues to jazz, Danny's experimental mindset and talent played significant part in redefining musical genres and boundaries and he is still an influence, as ahead now as he was when he began. Tues 8/4 Sophia Bastian 8:00 pm $10 Tues 8/4 70’s Party with Disco Sux 9:00 pm $10
