POMERANIAN HOUSE A PASSIVE REGIONAL HOUSE INSPIRED BY THE ARCHITECTURE OF POMERANIA 2013 | private investor | in office BPBO S.A.
Pomerania is the region of Poland localized along the Baltic coast. There are still living fishing
traditions, and local wooden architecture is easy to
meet. The design of a contemporary regional home
interprets the local architecture rather than imitating it. The shape of the house relates to the natural and cultural landscape.
The towering roof interprets the coastal buildings such as harbor cranes, windmills, and fishermen‘s
houses. Wooden facades imitate the skeletons of the boats under construction.
In addition, the object is a passive house, with a heat pump and photovoltaic cells on the roof.

HOUSING IN THE HARBOR COMPETITION FOR A HOUSING QUARTER 2018 | Competition for the private investor | in office BPBO S.A.
The building was designed as an eight-story building with local subsidence to seven floors to match the height of the neighboring buildings. A reference to them and the tradition of the Praga apartment buildings is the beveling (cutting) of the western corner. The architecture of the building was inspired by the structures of old Praga. The characteristic elements of this design are permanent facade cladding (ceramic tiles in different colors, bricks), windows with specyfic detail, distributed in an orthogonal grid, and detailed balustrades. THE GRAPHENE INSTITUTE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONIC MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY IN WARSAW 2014 | Bachelor thesis | Warsaw University of Technology - Faculty of Architecture
As part of my bachelor‘s project, I got in touch with the Institute for Electronic Materials Technology. It is one of the significant public institutions in
Poland that researches and produces graphs. The subject of the project was the new headquarters of the institute with research, office, production, and popularization areas.
The primary reference for the spatial arrangement
was the typology of the monasteries. Like modern monks, scientists need calm and concentration to do their scientific work. Another critical factor is
contact with nature and isolation from the outside world.
The spatial arrangement is based on inner courtyards around which various functions are organized. Right: monastery garden for reference

GRAPHENE LAB INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONIC MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY IN WARSAW 2017 | public investor | in office BPBO S.A.
Instytut Technologii Materiałów Elektronicznych - the Institute of Electronic Materials Technology - is a leading institution in Poland that conducts research into the use and manufacture of graphene. After registering a groundbreaking process for producing this material, the demand for new production and research areas increased. The idea of the project was maximum functional flexibility since the dynamics of research do not allow any prediction of future spatial needs. On the other hand, it was crucial to give scientists an integration space by creating inner courtyards around which the office space is concentrated. MEMORIAL CHAMBER OF WARSAW UPRISING 2014 | Competition for public investor | in collaboration with Dominik Wroński
The general idea - anti-monument Warsaw Uprising is one of the critical moments in Poland‘s history. It was followed by an unbelievably brutal pacification that mainly affected the civilian population of the city. The planned investment is be dedicated to those victims and is located in a historical memorial park next to the war cemetery in Warsaw‘s Wola district. Considering the enormous scale of the crimes against the civilian population of Warsaw, the moral discussion about the purposefulness of the uprising should be abandoned. Therefore the monument should not take a particular position for the viewer but rather represent a place of reflection in contact with nature. The building was integrated into the slope so that it does not cover the park from the street side but rather forms the entrance gate to the park. The memorial wall runs perpendicular to the building along the path and opens directly to the lake. Right: site plan

PUBLIC LIBRARY IN WARSAW DISTRICT PRAGA 2013 | Student project | Under the guidance of Paweł Grodzicki Today is a library not only a book collection, but
also the meeting place. Silence and focus is a cha-

racteristic feeling present there. What will be the library in thirty, fifty or a hundred of years? Will it
be needed in general? We do not know that for sure. However, we can create conditions which will al-
low the object specificity to change according to the needs. In extreme situation, the specificity can give
way to new functions, which would supplant the traditional idea of a library.
View from the harbour
Strongly inspired by the Jorge Luis Borges text -„The library of babel” - I developed the idea of vertical shafts, containing all functions of the buil-
ding. According to the social and culture changes, I decided to make the construction as variable as possible, allowing all cellings to move or to vanish.
One side of the building is used as a book collection. This part will never be replaced by any other function. The more books will be needed, the more flo-
ors will be pulled down. At the end, if books are not
needed anymore, there will be only an empty shaft
- a remaining of the material form of knowledge. Right: location among dense XIX-century quarters of Praga district

Effect: city with defined center Realisation of the postulate - as the number of inhabitants shrinks, the area used for urban activity gets smaller and smaller, but also better organised, denser and more livable. As a result, the mainntenance of the infrastructure would be cheaper, and communication less complicated.

SUBURBAN CAMPUS THE NEW CENTER OF THE MICHAŁOWICE COMMUNE WITH A KINDERGARTEN PROJECT 2019 | Competition for public investor | With Michał Sikorski The subject of the competition was the design of
a new center in the Michałowice municipality near Warsaw. In addition to the existing town hall
and the police station, a school, a kindergarten, a community center,
a medical clinic, shops,
and sports fields would be built on the site. The
primary design assumption is to create two quarters
- one large and one small. The first is a compact complex of service and educational buildings (the
so-called educational campus). The second quarter
is a kindergarten whose functional and spatial
arrangement is formally related to the educational campus, while the space in the middle acts as a multi-purpose auditorium.
The project aims to prove that urbanity and
closeness to nature do not have to be opposite to
each other and that the diversity of buildings does
not mean spatial chaos. The project shows that living in a small town can be more modern and
comfortable than living in a big city. We designed an
urban layout as the future city center - Michalowice could thus become a garden city.
Right: diagram of the division of the area into two environments - the quarter of the adults (Urban Block) and the quarter of the kids (kindergarten)

BUILDING RETIREMENT ADAPTATION OF HISTORICAL SUBSTANCE - A METHOD OF PRESERVING THE IDENTITY OF DEGRADED AREAS 2020 | Article at the conference in Nysa regarding revitalization In Poland, demolition is the most common solution
for abandoned buildings or infrastructure elements, even if there are no specific investment plans in the region.
While such decisions are usually explained for
safety reasons, sometimes only a few structural
elements need to be changed or replaced to allow further existence of the structure.
As part of my work, I am looking for urban and
architectural solutions. A certain amount of the architectural substance of valuable objects can be preserved, but which are not suitable for further use

solutions in Europe (Poland, Germany, Italy)
and my own concept of urban and architectural transformation from Bytom as one of the fastest depopulated Polish cities.

ROTATED HOUSE INSTALLATION FROM EUROPALLETS AND FOUND ITEMS 2010 | Przetwory Festival | Cooperation with Basurama Collective The design festival “Przetwory” was organized
In 2010 I worked with the Basurama group from
from 2005 to 2014 in Warsaw. The main aim was
Madrid. The joint project consisted of building
to promote creative recycling. For three days,
hexagonal structures from euro pallets, filled with
dozens of artists gathered in one place, processed
various functions. Some of them turned into swings,
unnecessary items, and sold them at a craft market.
and others into rotating houses.

Each side of such house corresponded to a different
activity and time of day: a place at the desk, a place to sleep, a place to hang a swing, and a place to
organize parties. The installation was named the best project of the festival by an international jury in the competition.
