a tres meses pasaron de este 2015 y todavía no encontramos un momento para descansar. Esperamos que Uds. sí lo hayan podido hacer en alguno de nuestros destinos, la bella Salta y toda la región del Norte Argentino, la increíble costa Atlántica de Chubut partiendo desde Puerto Madryn o la siempre activa Buenos Aires.
Nosotros estuvimos organizando los vuelos especiales que tendremos durante este mes trasladando a varios equipos argentinos a sus compromisos por la Copa Libertadores al igual que varios grupos de grandes empresas internacionales que estarán visitando varios puntos de nuestro país. En nuestro afán por seguir apoyando al deporte volvimos a transportar al entrenador de las Leonas y a dos de sus integrantes a una clínica de Hockey que se realizó en la ciudad de Trelew (Chubut) en donde participaron 130 chicos de la región. Para brindarles un mejor servicio estamos haciendo un fuerte rediseño de nuestra página web. Ya van a poder verla muy pronto. Un tema de gran importancia para quienes conformamos Andes Líneas Aéreas es la seguridad y por eso es que volvimos a completar satisfactoriamente el proceso de recertificación IOSA, una de las últimas herramientas creadas por IATA sobre calidad, seguridad y excelencia operativa, lo que nos permitirá incrementar los vuelos de código compartido con otras aerolíneas de clase mundial. A partir de su certificación, la compañía ha adquirido las obligaciones de mantener el nivel de aprobaciones y certificaciones que la autoridad aeronáutica de la República Argentina exige. La operación cuenta con todo el soporte técnico necesario para operar eficientemente, desde la confección de los planes de vuelo a través del Sistema Jeppesen, hasta el desarrollo y cumplimiento de todos los procesos y procedimientos establecidos. hree months of 2015 have already gone by and still we have not found a moment’s rest.
We hope that you have been able to make it to some of our destinations, beautiful Salta, the whole northern region of Argentina, the unbelievable Atlantic Coast of Chubut, leaving from Puerto Madryn, or seeing the always active Buenos Aires. We were putting together special flights during these months for many Argentine teams with their commitment to the Copa Libertadores along with large international companies that were visiting different parts of our country. In our enthusiasm to helping sports programs, we again carried the trainer of the Leones and two of its members to a Hockey Clinic that took place in the city of Trelew (Chubut) where they worked with 130 young people in the region. In order to provide the very best service, we are doing a major redesign of our Web page. You will be seeing it very soon. Something that is very important to us at Andes Líneas Aéreas is safety, as a result we once again completely successfully the IOSA recertification process, one of the latest tools created by IATA for quality control and excellence in operations that makes it possible for us to add flights in the same class as that of other world class airlines. Through this certification, the company has met all the requirements for approvals and certifications that the aeronautical authority of Argentine has mandated. The operation relies on all the technical support necessary to operate efficiently, from the creation of flight plans through the Jeppesen System to the development and completion of all established processes and procedures. l ser humano siempre quiere estar un paso adelante de la tecnología por eso año tras año los científicos crean productos que harán la vida más entretenida y simple. Así sucede con los anteojos de realidad virtual, un gadget que pronto se convertirá en un objeto cotidiano. Una de las propuestas más prometedoras son los castAR de Technical Illusions, que acaban de conseguir la financiación necesaria para fabricarlas, a través de KickStarter. Lo divertido es que pueden conectarse a una computadora y en sus cristales se muestran las imágenes generadas por la Pc que producen un mundo virtual. Para que sea una realidad en movimiento, los anteojos disponen de dos sensores para que la cámara de dicho escenario virtual se mueva al girar la cabeza. Además las imágenes holográficas pueden visualizarse en una mesa, una pared o cualquier otro objeto. La ventaja de castAR, con respecto a otros productos similares como los Google Glass o los Oculus Rift, es que son tan livianos como unos lentes normales, y mucho más económicos. También se puede agregar un mando de control ideado para la ocasión, llamado Magic Wand, y la utilización de una tela de posicionamiento que se puede colocar en cualquier superficie, para una mejor experiencia, algo que no pueden hacer el resto de los modelos virtuales. Y a diferencia de un casco, los castAR poseen dos mini proyectores y unas pantallas confeccionadas con tecnología “retroreflectora” en las que se van a recrear las imágenes. Una propuesta interesante y diferente aunque sus prototipos no son todavía finales.

uman beings always want to be one step ahead of last year’s technology and thousands of scientists come up with new products that will make life more entertaining and simple. Now it has happened with virtual reality glasses, a gadget that will become and daily things in the coming years. One of the most promising proposals is the castAR from the Technical Illusions Company that recently got the necessary financing to make them through KickStarter. The neat thing is that they can connect to a computer and their lenses will show the images generated by the PC that will produce a virtual world. In order to create movement, the eyeglasses have two sensors so the camera connecting with the virtual scene moves as the wearer turns his head. In addition, the holographic images can visualize or image a table, a wall, or any other object. The advantage of castAR, compared to other similar products like Google Glasses or Oculus Rift, is that they are very light, almost like regular eyeglasses and much cheaper. Also, a control module can be added just for the occasion; it’s called a Magic Wand, and the use of a positioning cloth that can be placed on any surface for a better experience, something that no other virtual model has. And, unlike a helmet, the castAR has two mini-projectors and some screens made with “retro-reflecting” technology that is going to recreate the images. This is an interesting and different proposal even though the prototypes are not final.

n su momento, el queso Roquefort causó controversias por su apariencia, pero cuyo sabor cautivó a tantos paladares que pudo perpetuarse en el tiempo. Sin embargo esas vetas verdes y azules quedan como un juego de niños al competir con otra clase de queso oriundo de la isla de Cerdeña, Italia, que lleva al extremo eso de valerse de bacterias o seres vivos para lograr su textura y sabor: es que el Casu Marzu contiene, nada más y nada menos, que larvas vivas en su interior. Es muy cierto que “sobre gustos no hay nada escrito”, pero enfrentarse a esa pasta de queso donde viven y se multiplican las larvas traslucidas de una especial especie de mosca es algo muy distinto. Las larvas varían entre unos ocho hasta quince milímetros de largo y pueden saltar hasta 15 centímetros, por lo que se recomienda a los degustadores que se protejan los ojos. Éstas se introducen deliberadamente en el queso, lo que fomenta la fermentación y produce la rotura de los ácidos grasos. De esta manera, la pasta del queso se ablanda, se airea y segrega un líquido llamado “lágrima”. Aunque para algunos esto suene extraño, la realidad es que tiene varios aspectos beneficiosos para la salud, como por ejemplo, una fuerte acción digestiva. Puede comerse con o sin las larvas, eso depende del entrenamiento y el gusto del comensal. Se sirve untado sobre pan y se acompaña con algún vino tinto un poco fuerte. Quienes lo han probado dicen que se trata de un queso muy interesante, de paladar picante y muy fuerte, pero de amplia cremosidad y con muy suave textura.

n its day, Roquefort Cheese created controversies by its appearance, but its flavor captivated many palates that has remained so down to today. Nevertheless, those blue and green veins are like the competition in a children’s game to compete with another kind of native cheese from the island of Sardinia in Italy whose bacterias and living components create its texture and flavor. This cheese is Casu Marzu, with nothing more nor less than living larva within. Without a doubt, where it comes to tastes “there are no written rules,” but when it comes to this cheese where translucent larva are living and multiplying, a special kind of fly is certainly something very different. The larva vary between eight and fifteen millimeters in length and can jump up to 15 centimeters, therefore it is recommended that consumers protect their eyes. These creatures and intentionally placed in the cheese, this causes fermentation and produces the release of fatty acids. In this way, the body of the cheese is softened, is ventilated, and secretes a liquid called “tears.” Although for some this sounds strange, the truth of the matter is that there are many beneficial aspects that are healthy, for example, a strong digestive activity. It can be eaten with or without the larva, this depends on the entertainment and taste of the diner. It can be served spread on bread accompanied with a red wine that is a bit strong. Those who have tried it say that it is a very interesting cheese, it has a spicy sensation and is pretty strong, but its texture is creamy and soft.

partir de un informe de la página web británica, BBC Mundo, en base a datos aportados por las agencias de viajes Rough Guide y Lonely Planet, Salta es la única ciudad de la Argentina que se ubica entre las 10 mejores localidades del mundo no solo para visitar, sino para vivir. Los fundamentos de la BBC dan cuenta de que Salta posee una vibrante cultura y una arquitectura colonial muy bien preservada. Según la descripción del informe, “Pueden apreciarse mercados a reventar, prósperos viñedos y peñas, restaurantes que sirven comidas típicas de la región en un ambiente de música y bailes tradicionales”. Por su parte, Mariano Ovejero, Ministro de Cultura y Turismo de Salta, expresó que “es una alegría muy grande para nosotros que Salta haya sido seleccionada como una de las cinco mejores ciudades para vivir. Sabemos que somos un destino obligado del amante de turismo y la cultura, pero que nos hayan elegido como un destino ideal para vivir nos reconforta aún más”. “Ahora bien, más allá de los logros obtenidos en estos últimos siete años, existen muchas asimetrías históricas y estructurales en nuestra Salta y en la región que nos obligan a seguir trabajando para posibilitar mejores condiciones de desarrollo para todos y en cada lugar”, dijo el funcionario, quien además destacó que “el pueblo salteño es muy amable con el turista y sin dudas esto es

hen this information was released on the web page of BBC Mundo, it was reported that it came from information provided by the travel agencies of Rough Guide and Lonely Planet, that Salta is the only city in Argentina that ranked among the ten best communities in the world, notonly for visiting, but for becoming a resident. The reasons revealed by the BBC report were based on Salta’s having a vibrant cultura and a very well preserved architecture. According to the description of the report, “There are great markets, prosperous wineries, and restaurants that serve the typical food of the area in an atmosphere of traditional music and dance.” Mariano Ovejero, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Salta, said that “it is a great pleasure for us in Salta to have been selected as one of the five best cities in which to live. Vale la pena Probablemente, Salta sea una de las culturas más tradicionales del país. No obstante, el resto del año la oferta cultural de la Ciudad continua siendo abundante y variada. It’s really worth it Salta is probably one of the most traditional cultures in the country. trás en el tiempo, cuando Buenos Aires era apenas una aldea, un arroyo hacía el trayecto desde Plaza Constitución hasta el Río de la Plata; un arroyo al que las autoridades decidieron entubar en 1860, por cuestiones de movilidad dentro de la ciudad. Esa ruta fluvial hoy se convirtió en el Zanjón de Granados. Así se llamó a este complejo, dado el apellido de su primer propietario. A pesar de su notoriedad, tras el cambio de mando en los titulares, el Zanjón quedó en el olvido. Y así pasaron las décadas, con todo el clamor de las revoluciones e hitos históricos sobrevolando su superficie, aunque desconociendo que, debajo del edificio ubicado en el barrio de San Telmo, existía toda una estructura olvidada.
El redescubrimiento A pesar de permanecer en una especie de “secreto”, por pura casualidad, el dueño de la propiedad decidió investigar más a fondo su edificación, tras lo que terminó topándose con el famoso zanjón. Este suceso ocurrió alrededor de 1980, cuando el propietario quiso deshacerse de una montaña de escombros que tenía acumulada en el patio. Qué grande fue su sorpresa al notar que, debajo de los restos materiales, yacían 1500 metros cuadrados de pura historia, con reliquias que

ack in time, when Buenos Aires was barely a village, a stream ran from Plaza Constitución to the Río de la Plata; a stream that officials decided to intubate in 1860 to facilitate movement in the city. This fluvial route today has become a Zanjón de Granados (well-known gully or ditch). This complex is so called because of the surname of its first owner. In spite of its notoriety, after the change of landowners, The Zanjón all but became forgotten. Thus, it remained so for decades with all the clamor of revolutions and events that took place on the surface world, although it was unknown that under a building located in the neighborhood of San Telmo, there existed all of this forgotten structure.
The rediscovery In spite of remaining kind of a secret, when the property-owner, purely unplanned decided to investigate the land under his building, he came across the famous water route. This event happened around 1980, when the property-owner wanted to get rid of a mountain of debris that had accumulated in the courtyard. What a surprise that under the material remains, was laying 1,500 square

La recorrida Entrar al Zanjón de Granados es una experiencia diferente en Buenos Aires, puesto que la estructura colonial no es una puesta en escena, sino un auténtico vestigio de la incipiente Argentina. Dentro de sus pasillos se viaja a través del tiempo, valiéndose de luces tenues, melodías, y sonidos de ambientación preparados justo para que la experiencia del visitante sea magnífica. En primera instancia, la casa antigua abre sus prominentes puertas a los curiosos, paseándolos por los pasillos y el patio de la superficie. Es precisamente ahí donde empieza a vivirse una

nueva etapa: el descenso. No es un descenso negativo, más bien todo lo contrario. Indudablemente, el panorama se torna un poco más lúgubre al hacerse paso entre escaleras con una quincena de décadas encima, pero eso también consigue que su magia se perciba constantemente. Una vez alcanzado el subsuelo definitivo, los corredores largos atisban los enigmas que las paredes (que conservan todos y cada uno de los ladrillos coloniales) están dispuestas a revelar a los más atentos. Azulejos franceses imperiales, frascos de vidrio, herramientas, utensilios, botellas, baldosas de la antigua vivienda que bordeaba el zanjón, tejas, clavos y cerrojos, son algunos de los recuerdos que reviven el pasado nacional.
Perdido en el tiempo El Zanjón de Granados guarda la esencia de los antepasados porteños, pero también se convirtió en un lugar con personalidad propia. Dentro de su estructura las melodías confluyen con el silencio más misterioso que se pueda encontrar en la Capital. Por esta razón, los visitantes tienen bancas para sentarse en este extraño y memorable subsuelo, que ofrece también momentos de reflexión, para aquellos que busquen alcanzar la paz en la ciudad. o que empezó como una actividad para incentivar el turismo en la ciudad patagónica de Puerto Madryn durante el éxodo de Semana Santa se convirtió en un símbolo para cristianos de todo el mundo. Con la posibilidad de utilizar las tranquilas aguas del Golfo Nuevo donde no solo las ballenas y los deportes extremos son una atracción, la idea de un vía crucis submarino parecía tomar forma. Desde 2001 esta original actividad surgió de la mano del ex subsecretario de Turismo de la ciudad, José María “Popey” Goity, quien buscaba una nueva forma de atraer turistas a la provincia. Así un Viernes Santo hace ya 14 años, combinando el culto católico y la naturaleza propia del sur argentino, miles de buzos y fieles se acercaron al muelle de cruceros “Luis Piedra Buena” para presenciar por primera vez el Vía Crucis que recorre 500 metros a ocho metros de profundidad.

Cuando la procesión emergió lentamente tras cumplir con las estaciones 11 y 12 en el mar, la multitud la esperaba portando velas que iluminaban la costa, para concentrarse en la intersección de Roca y el muelle, para la ceremonia final. Además en la edición 2011 el público fue testigo del hundimiento del “Pastor de los abismos”, una imagen de Cristo sobre un pedestal de hierro de 3 metros y medio que es quien cuida a los buzos cuando están sumergidos.

hat began as an activity to encourage tourism in the Patagonian city of Puerto Madryn during the Holy Week became a symbol for Christians from all over the world. Vía Crucis Submarino que cuenta con el reconocimiento papal. El evento ya se ha convertido en un clásico religioso bajo el mar, siendo una de las actividades más emotivas y originales reconocidas por la comunidad. A modo de homenaje la ceremonia termina en el muelle, donde fieles de todas las parroquias de Madryn esperan a la procesión cantando y portando velas, la que finaliza con la salida del sacerdote junto a los buzos portando la cruz hacia la orilla. Las estaciones son similares a las que se realizan en superficie que desde el año pasado se hizo “mixto”, es decir, empieza en tierra firme, continúa por el agua y termina otra vez en la superficie. Se respetan las 14 estaciones tradicionales, de las cuales 9 estaciones son terrestres que parten de la Parroquia Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y terminan en el muelle Piedrabuena, donde se

cumplen las últimas estaciones bajo el agua.
Cuándo y cómo participar El encuentro es el Viernes Santo, 3 de abril al atardecer, en la Parroquia Sagrado Corazón de Jesús de la ciudad de Puerto Madryn. Y la convocatoria para participar de las estaciones subacuáticas está abierta a los buzos de todo el país. Los únicos requisitos son estén certificados como tales y que participen a través de una operadora local, para que estén contemplados en los procedimientos de seguridad y ordenar la procesión bajo el agua. El año pasado la procesión contó con la participación de cien buzos y más de cinco mil fieles de buzos y “snorkelistas”, acompañados de varias decenas de kayaks y otras embarcaciones.

Papal recognition This Vía Crucis got the attention of the whole world and response did not take long in arriving.
This innovative activity was approved and recognized by the Holy Father, Pope Francis, the very same Jorge Bergoglio, and last year the city received with joy the formal blessing of the Vatican for the only Underwater Vía Crucis in the world. The event has now become a religious classic under the sea, being one of the most moving and original for the community. The ceremony of the Underwater Vía Crucis finishes on the pier where the faithful from throughout diocese are waiting, singing, and carrying candles. The underwater procession comes to an end with the priest together with the divers carrying the cross to shore. The stations are similar to those on land that since last year have become “mixed,” that is it begins on land, continues to the wáter, and then returns tol and. There
are the 14 traditional stations, 9 are on land and depart from the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish and finish on the Piedrabuena pier, where the last stations are underwater.
When and how to participate The meeting is on Good Friday, April 3 at dusk at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Puerto Madryn’s city. The official invitation to participate is open to divers from any country. The only requirement is that they be certified and that they participate through a local operator in order to provide for safety procedures and to organize the underwater procession. Last year the procession included 100 participating divers and more than five thousand divers and “snorkelers,” along with several dozen kayaks and other vessels.

as vacas son consideradas un animal sagrado en la India. Deambulan por las calles de las ciudades y son alimentadas como un acto de fe. Están protegidas por ley y no se las puede lastimar, ni correrlas del camino. Por ejemplo, si vamos en auto y una vaca impide el paso, se debe esperar a que ella decida irse. Pero, ¿todo esto por qué? En el hinduismo, la religión predominante en la India, la vaca es considerada un símbolo de fecundidad y maternidad debido a su leche y se la venera en un marco de respeto prohibiendo su sacrificio. Es concebida como la madre de la humanidad por el nutriente que suministra, al igual que una madre amantando a su hijo. Por este motivo la religión Hindú

nursing its young. For this reason, the Hindu religion the death of a cow with that of its own mother; and, in India they are sacred in a distinct way. From the point of view of the West, this cult is viewed as a demonstration of how spiritual values are placed above life itself. To many westerners, this act of making sacred seems paradoxical in a country in which there is so much poverty, with the poor refusing to eat cows, but behind this apparently irrational behavior, there is an explanation that is more than rational: the prohibition against killing and consuming cows in India is owing to the fact that they are more useful alive than dead.

El origen de esta costumbre se pierde en el pasado. Hace casi 2.500 años, el crecimiento demográfico en la India provocó la reducción de las tierras de pasto en favor de los cultivos de hortalizas. Las vacas fueron entonces conservadas por su leche y abono. Sin embargo, desde mucho antes, desde los vedas arcaicos, en los cuales se inspira la religión del hinduismo, se establece que la vaca es una madre, tal como lo es la tierra, la nodriza y la misma madre. Posteriormente el budismo enseñó Ahimsa, es decir “no violencia” que incluye una dieta vegetariana sin carne vacuna en el menú. A los no vegetarianos se les da el apelativo discriminante de “Chandalas” o “comedores de carne”. Así la religión hindú hizo hincapié en el deber sagrado de abstenerse de matar ganado vacuno o comer su carne basándose en el ahimsa. Para el hinduismo, todo lo que proviene de una vaca es sagrado, ya que, su cuerpo contiene unos 330 millones de dioses y diosas. Como dijo el antropólogo norteamericano Marvin Harris: “El enigma no se soluciona diciendo que los hindúes no comen vacas porque son hindúes y los hindúes no comen vacas. El rechazo de la carne de vaca debido a las creencias hindúes es lo que constituye el enigma, no la respuesta”.

Cows were then kept for their milk and manure. Those who were not vegetarians were given the pejorative name “Chandalas” or “meat-eaters.” So, the Hindu religion insisted on the sacred duty of abstaining from eating beef or eat meat basing this practice on Ahimsa. In Hinduism, all that comes from the cow is sacred since its body contains some 330 million gods and goddesses. As the North American anthropologist, Marvin Harris, said: “The enigma is not solved simply by saying that the Hindus do not eat meat because they are Hindus and they don’t eat cows. The rejection of beef is due to Hindu belief and this is what constitutes the enigma, not simply the reply.
