Run for their lives!
If you have experienced the excitement of the Orlando Strides walk, you know how inspiring and fun it is. Now we have added a 5K Run starting before the walk on October 28. The run registration fee includes a commemorative medal, race bib with timing chip, water stops on the route, plus pre and post event entertainment. Your registration fee is a tax-deductible donation to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Kick-start your fundraising! Your registration fee counts toward your fundraising efforts. Raise $100 or more to earn your official race t-shirt. Check in on the day of the event will begin at 6:30 a.m. We will also offer packet pickup the week before the event. We encourage you to register early, as registration is limited to the first 1,500 runners. Registration the morning of the race will be based upon availability. If you have raised $100, you can pick your shirt up at packet pickup or the morning of the event at registration. The run begins at 8 a.m. Be ready to go at 7:45!

After crossing the finish line, join us for entertainment, refreshments, and the official walk at 9 a.m. with 65,000 Striders — The biggest Strides walk in the country!

Runners should be able to complete a 15-minute mile. If you are not able to do so, we invite you to join us for the noncompetitive walk beginning at 9 a.m.)

Meet the New Orlando Strides Team Members! Leandra Clovis and Chia Rowe have joined the MSABC team! They are thrilled to be joining the Making Strides Team and cannot wait to continue to work on making this amazing event the best and biggest in the country. Leandra is new to the Orlando area and has recently relocated from Morgantown, WV, with her husband. Before joining the MSABC team in Orlando, Leandra worked for Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia as a Regional Manager for 4 years. Prior to that, she worked with the American Cancer Society in Morgantown, managing Relay For Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events and mission programs. Leandra is thrilled to be joining the team and can’t wait to work on this amazingly successful event! Chia Rowe is new to the American Cancer Society but not to the Orlando area. She comes to us having spent the last 3 years bringing large sporting events to the Orlando community with the Central Florida Sports Commission. She has also been the event manager for Competitor Group managing Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series events and previously was with the Walt Disney World Company® at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex®. We are thrilled to have her experience working on large events, now supporting the success of the largest Making Strides walk in the country!
