rum.

sentation about the printing applications of the future and his “Printing has a future” motto, in the presentation as a significant defiance in the name of the printing industry. The conference started with the vice president in charge of packaging Kilian Renschler’s presentation. When we look at the notes that were highlighted in Renschler’s presentation: The size of the packaging market in 2011 was 478 billion Euros. The paper, cardboard and plastic packaging solutions offered by Heidelberg, constitute the largest portion of the market share. The production subjects in this category are labels, cardboard boxes, flexible packaging and corrugated products. In the research done by Pira that clarified this research that was also by Pira, when the rising population and rising packaging market shares are distributed according to regions the results are: The Asia Pacific region (51%) with a higher rate of population increase, is growing slower in the packaging compared to Europe (13%) which has a slower rate of population growth. The fastest growth in Packaging was in Europe at 23%. It is followed by North America (23%), Asia Pacific (21%), Japan (10%) and Latin America and the others (11%). The packaging market receded to a certain extent after 2007 from 474 billion s to 436 billion Euros and started to grow again in 2011 to reach 478 billion Euros. The 2016 projection is 561 billion Euros. When it is examined from the Heidelberg perspective, 41% of the 101 billion Euros packaging market share is comprised of flexible packaging and 39% is comprised of cardboard boxes. When we take a look at the printing techniques that are used, flekso constitutes a 40% share and sheet fed offset a 33% share. While all of these figures indicate growth in the packaging market, it also shows the growth of sheet fed offset in the packaging market. Another striking detail from Renschler’s presentation was about the Heidelberg Print Media Center. The center is 4 thousand square meters. It houses six printing machines, two shape cutting and four folding and adhesion machines. In the center where there are 40 employees; now pay attention to this: 520 demos are done per year and every year one thousand Heidelberg customers are accepted as guests here. Now don’t you think that this is the answer to the question that has
