Great Gatsby Inspiration

he Great Gatsby. Sigh. I think we can all freely admit that Baz Luhrmann’s spectacular, cinematic masterpiece had us salivating over the glamorous, glittering– and sometimes gaudy–fashion and decor. The average wedding budget probably wouldn’t even cover Jay Gatsby’s Saturday night drinks tab, but elements of this elegant theme can be lifted (affordably) to create a truly memorable event. This look definitely calls for sparkle, drama and plenty of free-flowing Moet! Gold and feminine soft pinks, glittering fairy lights and cut crystal stemware would make a bold statement at any venue. The bride should dazzle in art deco jewellery, feathered and delicately beaded headpieces and strings of pearls. Think stylish bow ties and trouser braces for the dapper groom and groomsmen and adorn bridesmaids in gorgeous drop-waisted, fringed party dresses.
