Our class visited the replica of the Philadelphia at the Maritime Museum in Vergennes, Vermont.

The Philadelphia was defeated by the British during the Battle of Valcour Island. It was shot by a cannon and sunk.
•Benedict Arnolds’ mother died in 1759. He was very close to her. That probably contributed to his treachery in later years. Benedict Arnold was born in Norwich, Connecticut and was ranked Major General before he became a traitor.
