EDITOR'S LETTER Welcome to the Anthology 2023!
This volume encapsulates the very best editorials we published during 2023 - the absolute creme de la creme. We’ve cut away all other distractions, so you won’t find runway galleries, presentations, articles, style guides, interviews, or any of our other usual features in this issue.
Instead, what you have in your hands (or on your screen) is a beautiful coffee table book that will stand the test of time, serving as inspiration for many years to come. Whether you are a photographer, model, makeup artist, fashion designer, graphic designer, accessories designer, show producer, stylist, or simply a fan of fashion and photography, you will find plenty here to get your creative cogs turning.
This edition contains a number of productions created in-house over the course of the year. They include
the winning editorials we shot for the two winners of The Face of London Runway 2023: Corey Lane, who came all the way from Australia to take part in the contest, and Essence Shomari-Howells, who you will see right away as our leading editorial. Both of them were cover stars in their individual issues. If that wasn’t the case, no doubt one of their gorgeous faces would be gracing the cover of this anthology, too, but we thought we’d give someone else a shot. 2023 was, in many ways, the end of an era for London Runway. Don’t panic at those words - it was also the start of a new one. At the beginning of the year, we made the decision to cut down on our written content and include more images, making way for more coverage of runway shows and presentations as well as the stunning editorials youll see here. At the end of 2023, we made another such decision, this time to turn our focus towards London Fashion Week and Graduate
Fashion Week only. This was, then, the last year in which we will be producing 12 monthly issues. Instead, going forward, there will be just three issues across the year, featuring content only from the shows mentioned. We’ll throw some editorials and lookbooks in, too, so don’t think that this is the last you’ll see of our work in the studio. Will we publish another anthology? Time will tell. Everything we do is a continual experiment as we drive to go deeper, better, and stronger than we ever have before.
