RECAP Dollywood, our District Fall Rally was a blast! This year was one of the biggest Fall Rally in K-T HISTORY so thank you so much for all of you who came out! I hope you had fun (because I know I did)! This was my first Fall Rally and I didn’t know what to expect but seeing all you guys was so eye-opening. I got to experience how big and impactful Key Club was. I can’t wait til District Convention (DCON) and see you all again! “It was my first Fall Rally, and it was an awesome experience because I got to meet new people from various divisions. I also loved spending more time with my club members, and getting to know them more in a carefree environment.” -Sharon Kim, District Secretary

Berea Community High School Berea Community made happy packages for the teachers in their school! They wanted to partake in project happiness by encouraging everyone to #CelebrateMondays Each Key Club member took turns decorating boxes and filling them with goodies to be handed out to teachers and students. The purpose of the project was to spread joy and remind others that acts of kindness are infectious!

Unaka High School

Unaka High School observed Spina Bifida Day and sponsored their biggest project‌ the annual Spina Bifida Walk. This year, it was held on October 24th Key clubbers made and sold yellow ribbons and they were able to raise over $2000! The son of a faculty member has Spina Bifida so Team Brody is near, dear to their hearts and really hits home.

Walden High School Walden High School hosted a Haunted House, Monster Mash, on October 23rd—their annual event they do in partnership with the Walden Parent Association. The key clubbers along with the faculty advisor were able to contribute by constructing the house and coordinating the event. They hosted 2 haunted houses (one for lower school and one for middle and high schoolers) so that people of all ages were able to come and have fun! Walden uses this event to spread awareness of Key Club to all three levels as well as using it to bond since the school offers K-12. It also allowed for bonding for the Key Club members to interact with each other and make new friends. All profits made in the haunted house is used towards paying dues as well as funding for throughout the year for supplies to use in service projects or for Key Club events. Keep on serving!

Henry Clay High School Recently chartered—7 members of Henry Clay High School helped alongside their sponsoring Kiwanis club of Lexington to serve about 250 students at Harrison Elementary School! On Tuesday Nov. 24th, they served a thanksgiving dinner to Harrison— an inner city school with nearly all students on free or reduced lunch. The Kiwanis Club of Lexington has been partaking yearly—giving the Key Clubbers at Henry Clay an opportunity to serve! They have been featured by various news stations! Keep up the great work!

Please send pictures and service projects to Julie.kim@ktkey.org to be featured in the next School Service Spotlight!

The 73rd annual Key Club International Convention will be held July 6th – July 10th 2016 in Atlanta. The K-T District will be offering a tour to the convention (information to come later!).
