Train Now in Manufacturing and Construction • Course completed 100% Online • Hybrid of online and in-person instruction The following courses are offered by the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) in partnership with Reynolds and John Tyler Community Colleges. These courses offer flexible scheduling to allow job seekers to complete the course work in a few weeks and enter the workforce with industry-valued certifications.

Manufacturing Technician Certification •

The Manufacturing Technician Level 1 (MT1) certification program was developed to meet the growing employment demands of the manufacturing industry. The MT1 program addresses the core industrywide skills standards required for skilled production occupations in all sectors of manufacturing. The core competency areas certified are: (1) Math and Measurement, (2) Spatial Reasoning and Manufacturing Technology, and (3) Business Acumen and Quality. A growing number of regional companies use the MT1 as part of their apprentice programs. 60 hours


NCCER Core Construction Certification •

The NCCER Core Construction certification program is required before enrolling in all other Level 1 craft curricula, including CCWA’s electrician, HVAC, and heavy equipment operator programs. Its modules cover topics such as safety, basic construction and introduction to construction drawings. Completing this program gives the trainee the basic skills needed to continue education in further craft areas and to work as a general laborer on a construction site. 50 hours

Reynolds Community College offers the following program which is designed for working adults and parents who need part-time options and credits towards college certificates and degrees. Some programs may qualify for Financial Aid.

Welding Career Studies Certificate •

Employment opportunities exist for students proficient in welding technology. The program is designed for students with no previous experience in welding. Graduates are able to earn an AWS welding certification. 7 courses

NCCER Electrician 1 Certification •

The NCCER Electrician 1 certification program covers topics such as Orientation to the Electrical Trade, Electrical Safety, Electrical Circuits, Electrical Theory, National Electrical Code, Device Boxes, Raceways, Fittings, Conduit, Conductors and Cables, Fasteners and Anchors, Basic Electrical Construction Drawings, Residential Electrical Services, and Electrical Test Equipment. 74 hours

NCCER HVAC 1 Certification •

The NCCER HVAC 1 certification teaches HVAC Field Calculations, Basic Electricity, Basic Heating and Cooling Systems, including test preparation for the EPA-608 refrigerant certification exam for jobs in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industries. 74 hours

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 Certification •

The OSHA 10 General & Construction certifications teaches safety awareness and helps each worker recognize and reduce the risks of job site hazards. It teaches OSHA standards and covers safety and health hazards workers may face on job sites. 10 hours *These programs are part of Fast Forward. Financial assistance available for income-eligible residents.

CareerStart Courses completed 100% Online Offered through the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) the CareerStart program is designed to help individuals who are unemployed or underemployed get started or start again on a pathway to a well-paying career through career exploration, education, training and certifications. This program introduces students to online learning platforms utilizing progressive instruction to develop and build digital confidence and proficiency.

CareerStart GED CareerStart GED instruction utilizes a video platform for instructor/student interaction and lectures combined with online instructional modules. Academic instruction is combined with an instructional program that weaves in work-readiness skills, financial literacy, digital literacy, career exploration and career coaching. GED Ready testing is utilized to determine readiness to progress to take the official GED exams. FREE (7.5 hours)


Job Skills Improvement Courses completed 100% Online Constructive Conflict Resolution

Making the Move to Supervisor

Conflict is part of our daily lives; however, it can be a growth opportunity. With the right tools and frame of mind, you can resolve conflicts in a way that benefits everyone involved. Once people understand conflict and how to more effectively manage it, fear and avoidance can disappear, while personal growth and productivity expand. This workshop covers more productive conflict resolution techniques, starting with how to identify your own conflict reaction style through creating conflict solutions that all parties can support. 6 hours

This workshop serves to establish a shared belief system for what constitutes supervisory responsibilities. For experienced managers, this class allows participants to identify missed opportunities in establishing their supervisory relationships, so that more experienced supervisors can build onto what they already have accomplished. For new supervisors, this session allows participants to start their management assignments with a realistic preview of what is to come and what they need to immediately start doing as supervisors. 6 hours

Excel Overview Workshop Series

Microsoft Office Tips Workshop Series

This workshop series is an overview of some of Excel’s most popular features including formulas and functions, charts, PivotTables and formatting a document for printing. No knowledge of Excel is required. 4 hours

This workshop series is designed to increase your efficiency in Microsoft Office by learning some time-saving tips! Navigation and selection shortcuts, keyboard shortcuts, formatting shortcuts and tricks for reducing repetitive tasks are covered. 4 hours

Introduction to G Suite (Google) Workshop Series

Word-Power Formatting and Automating Tasks Workshop

The workshop series covers file management and sharing files using Google Drive, an overview of Google Docs and Google Sheets, and how to collaborate and edit documents with others using G Suite. You must create a free Gmail email account for this class. 4 hours

This workshop series is designed to increase your efficiency in Word by using some of Word’s automated features such as sections, styles, forms, and macros. This workshop is designed for someone who wants to become a Word power user and create complex documents quickly. Basic knowledge of Word is required.
