The National Retail Federation (NRF) Certification in Customer Service and Sales is designed to teach the core duties for a broad range of entry-level through first-line supervisory positions across sales and service industries. This certification is industry-driven and helps employers distinguish and recognize qualified customer service professionals. With the dramatic increase in online sales, an increasing number of companies are hiring virtual customer service representatives with the skill sets this class provides. 36 hours

Entrepreneurship in Small Business This Reynolds Community College program is designed for persons who wish to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to organize and manage a small business. This program addresses management concerns unique to small businesses, including organizational structure, marketing plans, financial analysis, tax requirements, legal issues, and computer applications. Offered through the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) the CareerStart program is designed to help individuals who are unemployed or underemployed get started or start again on a pathway to a well-paying career through career exploration, education, training and certifications. This program introduces students to online learning platforms utilizing progressive instruction to develop and build digital confidence and proficiency.

Constructive Conflict Resolution

CareerStart National Retail Federation (NRF) Certification The CareerStart National Retail Federation (NRF) Certification in Customer Service and Sales utilizes a video platform for instructor/student interaction and lectures combined with online instructional modules. Instruction is delivered through integrated education and training which blends industry training with Adult Basic Education (Reading, Writing, and Math). Academic support is combined with the instructional program to weave in work-readiness skills, financial literacy, digital literacy, career exploration and career coaching as well as preparation for the customer service certification. FREE (55 hours)

CareerStart GED CareerStart GED instruction utilizes a video platform for instructor/student interaction and lectures combined with online instructional modules. Academic instruction is combined with an instructional program that weaves in work-readiness skills, financial literacy, digital literacy, career exploration and career coaching. GED Ready testing is utilized to determine readiness to progress to take the official GED exams. FREE (7.5 hours)

Once people understand conflict and how to more effectively manage it, fear and avoidance can disappear, while personal growth and productivity expand. This workshop covers more productive conflict resolution techniques, starting with how to identify your own conflict reaction style through creating conflict solutions that all parties can support. 6 hours

Excel Overview Workshop Series This workshop series is an overview of some of Excel’s most popular features including formulas and functions, charts, PivotTables and formatting a document for printing. No knowledge of Excel is required. 4 hours

Introduction to G Suite (Google) Workshop Series The workshop series covers file management and sharing files using Google Drive, an overview of Google Docs and Google Sheets, and how to collaborate and edit documents with others using G Suite. You must create a free Gmail email account for this class. 4 hours

Grant Proposal Writing 101 This workshop explores the basics of writing proposals for government, corporate, and foundation grants. Participants will learn where to find grant opportunities and how to write WINNING proposals as a useful resource to build programs and services for their organizations. 6 hours

Making the Move to Supervisor This workshop serves to establish a shared belief system for what constitutes supervisory responsibilities. For experienced managers, this class allows participants to identify missed opportunities in establishing their supervisory relationships, so that more experienced supervisors can build onto what they already have accomplished. For new supervisors, this session allows participants to start their management assignments with a realistic preview of what is to come and what they need to immediately start doing as supervisors. 6 hours

Microsoft Office Tips Workshop Series This workshop series is designed to increase your efficiency in Microsoft Office by learning some time-saving tips! Navigation and selection shortcuts, keyboard shortcuts, formatting shortcuts and tricks for reducing repetitive tasks are covered. 4 hours

Word-Power Formatting and Automating Tasks Workshop This workshop series is designed to increase your efficiency in Word by using some of Word’s automated features such as sections, styles, forms, and macros. This workshop is designed for someone who wants to become a Word power user and create complex documents quickly. Basic knowledge of Word is required. 4 hours
