Professional Development Locksmith Certificate Program Unlock the key to your success by becoming a certified locksmith. If you have ever locked yourself out of your home, or left the keys in the car or found yourself in a similar jam, be the professional that people call to the rescue. This comprehensive 90-hour course will equip you with the necessary skills to perform a number of locksmith jobs from making keys, broken key extractions to installation of various locks. As a growing essential trade, locksmith training could lead to your own business or employment with a locksmith, home improvement store, automotive center, security firm and more. This course is taught by licensed locksmiths.

Locksmith I

30 hrs

Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED, appropriate reading level. This course is designed to introduce students to locks and cylinders used in commercial and residential buildings. Troubleshoot common pin tumbler cylinders and simple master key systems, and cross-reference key blanks. Gain hands-on experience with cam, lever, mortise and secondary locks. Locksmith II 30 hrs Prerequisite: Locksmith I Perform master pinning and keying techniques, broken key extractions and mortise locks. Apply these techniques to several brands and types of locks. Fri & Sat 6pm to 9pm, 10am to 1pm 11/5-12/16/11 CE5002-F02 30 hrs. 10 sessions $399

Locksmith III 30 hrs Prerequisite: Locksmith II Install mortise locks and door strikes, and learn how to shim hinges. Become familiar with the features, functions and installation of high security locks such as Medeco速 and Mul-T-Lock速. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Certificate Program Gain an understanding of basic refrigeration theories and principles. Learn the basics of heat, heat flow, refrigerants, temperature, and the pressure-temperature relationship within the refrigeration system. Review proper soldering and brazing techniques through hands-on practice. Upon the completion of all three levels students will be eligible to take the Universal Recovery EPA Exam and upon passing will receive an EPA Universal Recovery Certificate. Employment opportunities include Service Technicians and Air Conditioning Technicians. The program consists of 180 total hours with three levels of 60-hour instruction. Price includes books. Basic Electrical Residential Wiring This course will provide students with 30 hours of electrical instruction including safety and hands-on practice in residential wiring. The course will focus on combining electrical theory with practice to help students develop proficient and safety skills required when doing electrical work. Installation
