A Message from Our Assistant Dean: Dear Friends: As Continuing Education and Professional Studies launches into its 10th year under my leadership, I want to share with you, our customers, the exciting changes taking place during this coming year, and thank you for your loyalty in choosing Hostos as your “continuing education institution of choice”. Together with Peter Mertens, newly named Executive Director, and a most dedicated and passionate staff, along with support from the head of our new Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development, Carlos Molina, we have distinguished ourselves with award-winning programs, developed our satellite campus, CUNY in the Heights, under stalwart leadership of Aldrin Bonilla, the site's director, inaugurated Jobs Plus in East Harlem, as well as receiving a federally-funded grant offering Allied Health training, all geared towards empowering our community to elevate their earning potential and to obtain more rewarding careers. Most importantly, our President, Félix V. Matos Rodríguez has tirelessly supported our mission resulting in even more innovative programs that meet the needs of our community, and ultimately creating the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development. As we continue to grow and evolve, I am pleased to announce the new Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development will be moving to its own building by Spring 2012. I invite you to be a part of the opening celebration in the months to come; as we remain steadfast in providing quality training in the Bronx. We are committed to serving the community as a place where the whole family can experience the transformation that quality training, academic courses, and personal development programs, can bring to your lives. We appreciate your loyalty and hope you continue to value the courses and programs we offer at the Division of Continuing Education & Workforce Development. Sincerely, Lorraine Altman Assistant Dean
