The Big T 2016 Hello, We are delighted that you have decided to audition for The Big T 2016 and look forward to receiving your completed application form as soon as possible. The only criteria for entry are that contestants must be at least ten years of age by the date of the Grand Final on 19th March 2016 and must live within Harrogate & District. As in previous years all proceeds from the event will go towards the continuing restoration and modernisation of the backstage areas of Harrogate Theatre and we thank you for supporting this project. There is no entry fee to take part in this competition. Auditions will be held at The Crown Hotel, Crown Place, Harrogate, HG1 2RZ, on: • Saturday 27th / Sunday 28th February • Saturday 5th / Sunday 6th March • Each day from 9.30 to 14.30 On receipt of your completed application form, we will let you know the date and time of your audition. Should the allocated date and time be a problem, please get in touch as soon as possible. If you are successful and get through to the Grand Final, you must be available for Technical Rehearsals on Friday 18th. March from 5 pm and for the Dress Rehearsals on Saturday 19th. March from 12.30 pm. The format of the show will be similar to the previous Big T productions in 2010, 2012 & 2014. These were phenomenally successful talent contests. Almost two hundred people applied and went through the audition process, from which twelve acts were finally selected to perform in the Grand Final; a fully staged production at Harrogate Theatre. Previous productions played to full houses with an electric atmosphere. The Grand Final judges commented on the acts, and the audiences eagerly voted for their favourites. The overall winners were awarded cash prizes and finalists were invited to audition for ITV’s “Britain’s Got Talent”. To our delight one was featured on TV during the BGT audition process. The Big T 2016 Terms & Conditions of Entry General: • • • • •
You must be at least 10 years old by the 19th March 2016. There is no upper age limit. You must live in Harrogate & District - as defined by the council boundary (includes Pateley Bridge, Ripon, Masham, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge). Your details will be held on a computer database, used solely for The Big T and will not be divulged to any outside persons or organisations. In case of dispute, the event management’s decision is final.

The auditions will be held over two consecutive weekends in February/March at The Crown Hotel, Crown Place, Harrogate, HG1 2RZ, There is limited free parking at The Crown. Alternatively park on the street in Valley Drive/Cornwall Road/Clarence Drive – but be sure to check signs for time allowed. The Crown Hotel have very generously given us the audition space free – so we ask that you are as flexible as possible with regards your audition time, as we may have to change the date or time to fit in with other bookings. Please come dressed as you would for your stage performance. Your audition piece must not be longer than 4 minutes. We would appreciate your permission to include you in press releases about the competition, including a photo. If you do not wish to give us permission please indicate this on your arrival at the auditions.

Where relevant, you must provide your own backing track on an audio CD. We cannot support backing tracks on IPods or other devices. Please bring all props, instruments, etc. you need for your act.

You will be sent a standard theatre contract to sign If you are under 16 you will need a chaperone – preferably a family member We will need a JPG format photo for the Programme (min. 300KB). You must attend the Technical Rehearsals on Friday 18th March from 5pm. onwards. You must attend the Dress Rehearsal on Saturday 19th March from 12.30pm. The Grand Final will be from 7.00pm to approximately 10.30pm.
