EDITORS LETTER We would like to thank you, our readers for the support you have given to our first attempt and your constant interest. We added some new features to the magazine and the daily blog GREY/BLACK DAILY and in this issue we are introducing our new contributors. In light of the upcoming seasons spring and some kind of darkness has been revealed in the new trends. We are more than excited to present to you our points of view and the trends that we relate to. The contradiction of darkness and the lightness that spring ought to have intrigued us enough to create a mood. The upcoming trends are not solely dark, we can discern metallics, faded colours, muted neons together with urban environment inspirations we move forward to a more youthful approach and era of experimentations.
Darkness has being implement in mens editorials as well, while the designers we love presented this dark mood on their collection, therefore instantly being inspired into creating a dark urban theme featuring the most covetable items of the season. The design part of the magazine focuses on repurpose, the way that the unconventional materials can be utilised in design items and in furniture. The art section of the magazine consist of my latest project “The face never lies� that generates the meaning behind the facial expressions and they way we use them as a shield.

ABANDONMENT Inspired by the abandoned location and the dark trends of the season, we created a dark mood that facilitated us to translate it into a visual from. Dark colours are all over the resort and spring-summer 2013 collections motivates us to add more to black into our wardrobes. A mixture of prints, fabrics and accessories construct the dark and ghostly mood that we created.

DICONSTRUCTION The Deconstruction of the mens and women clothing generate a gender fusion of the two, was the right dose of inspiration needed for this season. The longer shirts and oversized shapes conquer the runways like Givenchy, Rick Owens, Ann Demulemister and Junn J. The element of masculinity plays an important role given that these kind of silhouettes are risky. LIES
“The face never liesâ€? is Aristos Christodoulou latest project, focusing on the facial expressions and the emotion that they convey. Projection as a medium is an important component for this project. Projected light has the ability of exposing what is hidden and it allows us to observe how people shields from it. Sunglasses is an accessory meant to protect the face from the light and to hide the facial emotions since without them you are exposed. This project uses typography and letters as secondary elements, the individual letters do not reveal their intended meaning in the individual pictures, but when the visuals are presented as a whole the unified meaning of the word combined with the faces allow the meaning to become clear.Â
