Registration for stage events will close on March 21, 2015 midnight. All required details regarding the performance (name of participants, duration of program, age category, etc.) should be provided through www.gama-austin.com no later than March 21, 2015 midnight. Names and other details of all participants should be provided for group items. Music files must be provided through www.gama-austin.com not later than March 31st, 2015 midnight. Registration forms will not be accepted after the deadline.

Competitions are conducted for age groups: ● ● ● ● ● ●

Up to 5: (born or after March 31st, 2010) Up to 7: (born or after March 31st, 2008) up to 8 (born on or after March 31st, 2007) up to 12 (born on or after March 31st, 2003) up to 14 (born on or after March 31st, 2001) up to 18 and (born on or after March 31st, 1997)


The age of oldest person in the group will be considered while determining the age group for a Group performance.

Other Rules: ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●

All contestants should abide by the guidelines. There should be at least 4 contestants for a competitive item. Item with less than 4 contestants will be considered as noncompetitive. Contestants must be present when their names are called out before the item. If a contestant does not show up on the stage by the 3rd call, he/she will be disqualified. A contestant or parent/legal guardian of the contestant cannot challenge the decision of judges. Decision of judges will be final and binding. All contestants must dress and conduct themselves appropriately, in conformity with accepted standards of dress code. Contestants will be identified with Chest Numbers. First, Second and Third prizes will be distributed for each competitive item. GAMA, GAMA Board of Directors or SaReGAMA organizers reserve the right to regroup and change the competition categories based on participation requests. If we get too many applications, GAMA, GAMA Board of Directors or SaReGAMA organizers reserve the right to limit the number of noncompetitive participation in an item. GAMA, GAMA Board of Directors or SaReGAMA organizers reserve the right to accommodate, cancel or disqualify participants if they deem it necessary. GAMA, GAMA Board of Directors or SaReGAMA organizers are not responsible for any misplaced or lost personal belongings.

Rules for Vocal/ Instrumental music: ● Maximum allotted time for a performance is 3 minutes. Points will be deducted if time limit is not adhered to. ● Karaoke singing or lip synching with an already recorded song will not be permitted for competitive singing. ● Lip synching with an already recorded song will not be permitted for non-competitive singing. ● Mimicking pre recorded music on the stage will not be permitted for playing any competitive/ noncompetitive instrumental music. ● Performers should bring their musical instrument to perform an instrumental music item. ● Handheld microphone(s) and microphone stands will be provided. Performers must make arrangements for instruments, props, keyboard, etc., if needed.

Rules for Dance items: ● For Classical/ Semi classical solo dance, maximum allotted time for a performance is 5 minutes. ● For Non-Classical solo dance, maximum allotted time for a performance is 4 minutes. ● For Group Dance maximum allotted time for a performance is 5 minutes. ● Points will be deducted if time limit is not adhered to. ● If dance is performed based on pre-recorded music, music files must be provided through www.gama-austin.com no later than March 21st, 2015 midnight when you register.


Music files required for dance performance should be provided before March 31st, 2015 midnight.

Rules for Fancy Dress: o Outfits that are scary, violent and adult content related are not acceptable. o Live weapons or anything dangerous will not be permitted. o Plastic swords, toy guns and other toy weapons are not allowed.

Rules for Essay Writing/ Poetry in English: ● On-Site Event ▪ Date: Apr 4th, 2015 ▪ Time: 10am Onwards ▪ Venue: Behren's Ranch Party Hall, 2503 Arbor Drive Round Rock, TX 78681 ● Essay writing contestants should submit their work on paper supplied by GAMA. ● Contestants will be provided scratch paper for drafting. ● Topic will be disclosed half an hour before the start of the competition at the venue. ● No reference material will be allowed. ● All electronic devices should be switched off at the competition venue. ● A maximum of 60 minutes will be provided to complete the work. ● Completed work should be submitted to the invigilator present at the competition venue. ● Competitor should not record his/ her name anywhere on the sheet. ● A separate sheet will be provided to record the Tag number assigned to the contestant. This sheet should be stapled to the submitted work.

Rules for Essay Writing in Malayalam: ● On-Site Event ▪ Date: Apr 4th, 2015 ▪ Time: 10am Onwards ▪ Venue: Behren's Ranch Party Hall, 2503 Arbor Drive Round Rock, TX 78681 ● Essay writing contestants should submit their work on paper supplied by GAMA. ● Contestants will be provided scratch paper for drafting. ● Contestant has to do a blind pick one of these 4 topics half an hour before the start of the competition and write the essay on that topic. ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ● ● ● ● ● ● ●

Rules for Pencil Sketching: ● On-Site Event ▪ Date: Apr 4th, 2015 ▪ Time: 10am Onwards ▪ Venue: Behren's Ranch Party Hall, 2503 Arbor Drive Round Rock, TX 78681 ● Contestants should bring lead pencil, sharpener, eraser and necessary tools. ● Sketching/Drawing Paper will be provided by GAMA. ● Coloring is not allowed for sketching. ● Topic will be provided half an hour before at the start of the competition at the competition venue. ● A maximum of 60 minutes will be provided to complete drawing. ● Completed drawing should be submitted to the invigilator present at the competition venue. ● Competitor should not record his/ her name anywhere on the sheet. ● Only Tag number assigned to the contestant be recorded on the back side of the paper. ● All electronic devices should be switched off at the competition venue.

Rules for Painting: ● On-Site Event ▪ Date: Apr 4th, 2015 ▪ Time: 10am Onwards ▪ Venue: Behren's Ranch Party Hall, 2503 Arbor Drive Round Rock, TX 78681 ● Contestants should bring necessary paint, brushes and tools for painting. ● Kids up to 8 can use any coloring medium they are comfortable with (like water color, crayons etc.). Contestants above 8 years should use water color as the coloring medium. ● Paper will be provided by GAMA. ● Only water color should be used for coloring, ● Topic will be provided half an hour before at the start of the competition at the competition venue. ● No reference material will be allowed. ● A maximum of 60 minutes will be provided to complete painting. ● Completed painting should be submitted to the invigilator present at the competition venue. ● Competitor should not record his/ her name anywhere on the sheet. ● Tag number assigned to the contestant should be recorded on the back side of the paper. ● All electronic devices should be switched off at the competition venue.

Rules for Photography: ● Topic: I was walking on the street ● Deadline: March 31st, 2015 midnight. ● Photograph should be unique, original and interesting. ● Both color and black & white photos may be submitted. There is no separate competition for Color and black & white photos. ● Digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos will not be accepted. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable.

If the judges determine that a photographer has altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to move the photo to Altered Images or to disqualify it. Photographs must be in a .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format. Files submitted may not be larger than 5Mb. Only one photo can be submitted by a contestant. Altered Image is defined as: Photographs manipulated for artistic purposes by applying digital and/or traditional special effects (i.e. colorizing, toning, collage, photo composites, HDR, etc.). Copyrighted photos/ images are not permitted. Please send a mail to SaReGAMAProgram2015@gmail.com with subject "PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION". Email should include the title of the photo and a write up not exceeding 3 sentences about the photo. Contestant should self-certify that the photo is original. Plagiarism in any form is not permitted. It is the responsibility of the contestant to secure required permission the required parties if models are used for the photo. Following contents are NOT permitted. o Adult content o Content that advocates against an individual, group, or organization o Copyrighted material o Drug, alcohol, and tobacco-related content For the work submitted by a minor, parents or legal guardian of the contestant should certify that the photograph was taken by the contestant without any adult assistance. Also include a brief biography about the contestant (not exceeding 200 characters) and your photograph.
