We are Friesische Verschleißtechnik GmbH und Co. KG, the company originally conceived and founded as ‘Friesische Verschleißtechnik GmbH’ in 1995 as a means of providing a fresh start for the production of bushings, a process which had hitherto been carried out by the successful and long-established Stahlwerk Augustfehn GmbH. Our young, committed team continues to uphold the tradition of high product quality. We have been manufacturing our products in a custom-built production facility since 1997. In addition to our main focus (bushing production) and standard components, we also produce parts based on your drawings or requirements. We accompany your projects in Germany, Europe and on the global stage in a competent and customer-oriented manner. We can also deliver your goods anywhere in the world.
We supply both small businesses and international corporations. You can order our products directly from us, from machine and equipment manufacturers, or from dealers. We always face up to the challenges presented by the optimisation of technology and production. We manufacture our products using only the best raw materials. The processing of forged austenitic manganese steel (Hadfield steel) continues to be our defining feature. We can also produce components in other steel grades if required. Our high-quality products are primarily produced using austenitic manganese steel X120Mn12 (1.3401) - of course, we can cater to your specific requirements as well. This high-quality material (Hadfield steel or mangalloy) and our years of experience in the field of forging result in bushings and wearing parts with fantastic properties to cater for all of your special requirements. These properties include high resistance to fracturing, wear and temperature (particularly resistance to cold). The steel also has emergency operating characteristics for your wearing parts. We are convinced that we will be able to fulfil your requirements with our products.

Groove bushings
Nose bushings
A standard design is made in accordance with DIN 1498 and the former TGL 4104. All bushings are rolled, calibrated and heat treated according to the material being used. Standard bushing designs are chamfered on one side, and the ends are abutted in parallel to one another. We are also happy to produce specially-shaped bushings for you, such as semicircular pieces, oval bushings, rail bushings and slotted spring pins.
Spline bushings
• Clamp bushings are produced in accordance with DIN 1498. • We can produce bushings with a bevel groove, arrow groove or shaft groove for you to serve as special grooves. • The bushing materials used primarily consist of 1.3401 (X120Mn12), 1.5026 (55Si7), and 1.8159 (50CrV4). All other quality grades and spring steel grades are available on request.

MangaDur速SEAMLESS One special feature and the focus of our company lie in a plain bearing produced from forged austenitic manganese steel (material no.: 1.3401) according to in-house specifications - we call it MangaDur速SEAMLESS. Pre-rolled or forged materials are exclusively used as products for further processing. A homogenous, re-crystallised and fine-grained structure is produced in our in-house heat treatment facility according to a defined and regulated forming process.
The special characteristics of the MangaDur速_SEAMLESS plain
The core competencies of our company, namely forging and austenitic manganese steel processing, have led to the development of a grooved bushing (MangaDur速SEAMLESS).
Due to these special properties, these plain bearings require very little maintenance. They have proven to work most effectively in dusty, wet and abrasive environments.

• We produce bolts and shafts, including those tailored to your specifications and drawings. The bolt materials that we use consist of special quality MangaDUR® 1.3401 (X120Mn12), 1.6582 (34CrNiMo6), 1.7225 (42CrMo4) and 1.8159 (50CrV4). Other quality grades are available on request. • Austenitic manganese steel As a central quality feature, we only use grade X120Mn12 (1.3401) steel with a manganese content of 12-14%. Examples of our range of parts: sheets in all sizes, pre-cut parts, round steel bars, forged and cast components, bent parts, dies, spikes, teeth, cogs and meshes. • Wearing parts We are happy to offer you a range of wearing parts such as weld plates and composite panels (Domite & Arcoplate).
We can also supply special screws, receptacles and other wearing parts according to your requirements. • Replacement gripping parts We understand the substantial strain that machines are placed under due to extremely high tare weights, the huge traction exerted by the drives and the weight of the respective material to be removed. We are also familiar with the interdependent actions (frequently in conjunct-ion with highly abrasive materials) which occur as part of a complete operation. • Drop forgings In our drop forge, we produce small and mediumsized forgings for use in mechanical engineering, material handling, plant engineering and technically related branches.

Especially in the production of single parts and small series, Stahlwerk Augustfehn Schmiede GmbH & Co. KG operates successfully on the market. A particular field of activity is the production of gear rims and large slewing bearings for serving the mining industry as well as bulk cargo handling.
