We had a lot of fun putting together this issue. We invite you to flip through the season's freshest ideas from our hometown of Santa Barbara to Los Angeles, all the way to New Zealand and beyond. A common thread? Color. Everywhere we look: an abundance of bright, cheery, bold color. The gamut explodes in this issue and it leaves us doing the happy dance. Event designer, Joy de Vivre fashions a wildly romantic wedding retreat at the Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse in Los Olivos, California.
To highlight the neutral colors of the landscape, Joy chose

Last years harvest made for the perfect Spring menu! The result was an ensemble of chive and goat cheese tea sandwiches, spring pea and mint soup, and apricot hand tarts.
As a nod to the farm location, Joy styled the whimsical invitations on an old cutting board. To continue with the natural yet elegant look, Joy chose a set of silver flatware that resembled tree branches and matched them with hand-molded ceramic plates and vintage champagne coupes, which felt so much more sweet than traditional flutes.

All that Glitters We were inspired by our Flutter Bride for this DIY. It's so simple and if you're anything like us, you probably already have all of the necessary materials in your craft cabinet. What You'll Need - Blank card stock of your choice - A fine tip glue pen - Glitter - Envelope (optional) Take a glue pen and draw a design or write your message on the card. Cover the glue-area in glitter, shake off the excess, and let dry. It's really that simple. For the shower invitation we painted glue on the top border and dipped it in pink glitter!

What You'll Need: - Foam Brush - Coordinating Paint and Glitter - Spray Glue - Animal Toy (of your choice) Ever think of making your own cake topper? We are kind of obsessing over these playful elephants that we picked up from Michael's. To make, cover your toy with a solid coat of paint. Let dry. Using your spray adhesive, cover the toy with a thin coat of glue. Immediately following, cover in glitter. Repeat the glue/glitter step if necessary. We decided to take it one step further and top it off with a little sign that says "You Take the Cake!"

Orange Blossom Cake with Honey Mascarpone Cream Makes 6 cakes
Cake ¾ cup all purpose flour ¾ cup cake flour ¼ teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 4 ounces (1 stick) butter 1 cup sugar 2 teaspoons orange zest 2 large eggs ½ cup cream ¼ cup orange juice ½ teaspoon vanilla extract Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray the mini bunt pans. Sift together the flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt and set aside. Cream the butter, sugar and orange zest in a kitchen aid on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs one at a time. Lower speed and add dry ingredients in three additions alternating with the cream, orange juice and vanilla extract, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Evenly divide batter between the 6 molds. Bake until the cakes begin to turn a deep golden brown and the center is dry when pierced with a cake tester, about 20 minutes. As soon as the cake is removed from the oven prick the bottom with about 8-10 holes and brush with about ½ of the orange blossom syrup. Let cool in the pan. Unmold and brush top of cakes with remaining syrup. Orange Blossom Syrup ½ cup orange juice 2 tablespoons sugar ½ teaspoon orange blossom water Heat orange juice and sugar in a small pot over a medium flame. Bring to a boil and make sure all sugar is dissolved. Turn down heat and let simmer for about 5 minutes until the juice has reduced by about half. Add orange blossom syrup and remove from heat. Set aside until ready to use. Honey Mascarpone Cream 1 cup heavy cream ¼ cup mascarpone cheese 2 tablespoons orange blossom honey plus more for drizzling Whisk together cream and mascarpone in a cold bowl until soft peaks form. Add honey and continue to whisk until medium peaks form. Use right away. Dollop on cake and drizzle with honey.
