Reading Pandora's Story (15 mins) ● Pass out the handouts for the Pandora story and have students read it. ● Students will read the myth by reading a few lines, then randomly calling on another student to read where they left off. ● Explain to students how to decorate their own Pandora box for them to take home. ● Allow students to decorate the box, giving more time if necessary. Closing & Goodbyes (5 mins) ● Close up the lesson by asking if there is anything specific students want to do. Be sure to ask what they liked about the lesson! ● Students will listen and offer input. What will I do if time remains at the end of my organized lesson? Play a series of games with students. Divide the class into teams and ask questions about the myth. The team with the most points wins! How will I know if the activity has been successful for my students? The lesson will be successful if students can be able to offer input on why Pandora’s Box was so important to the Greeks and modern society. What may I need to adjust for next month’s activity and how will I do that? Find ways to make reading stories more engaging for students!
