Chaque collection de la Cerise apporte la surprise de nouvelles couleurs. Cette saison printemps-été est particulièrement lumineuse et épicée. Place au Colombo, un moutarde qui pique ou au Paprika notre nouveau rouge-orangé survitaminé ! Pour équilibrer les couleurs solaires, prenons le large et plongeons dans les profondeurs sous-marines et apaisantes du bleu Encre. Pourquoi ne pas en profiter pour jouer avec toutes ces couleurs ? Le sac jour devient tricolore et la nouvelle forme de pochettes assorties, se décline en bicolore. Dans la famille accessoire, on accueille notre dernière création : le sac bouteille, à porter fièrement en bandoulière ! Dites adieu au plastique et mettez-y votre thermos ou votre bouteille de vin pour un apéro entre amis. Un geste éco et chic pour un usage quotidien et responsable. Notre emblématique trousse cube nous présente sa grande soeur au format XL super pratique. La collection PE 19, est tout en couleur mais aussi tout en motifs. Notre nouveau dessin Masha, la fleur hybride home made reprend toutes ces couleurs pour mieux se mixer et saupoudrer la collection de sa fraicheur. SS19 is full of colour but also patterns. Our new design Masha, a home-made fusion of flower s, takes and mixes all these bright new colour s, sprinkling freshness over the collection. Let’s not forget the timeless Finette stripe, this time in Caviar, mixing even better with the Ernest gingham. A mix and match of patterns for a lazy day on floor cushions or quilts.
LA PETITE HISTOIRE a n e c d ot e
Voilà la petite histoire et les souvenirs colorés qui inspirent encore aujourd’hui l’univers de La Cerise. J’ai grandi en Normandie, près de la mer, entourée de quatre frères, reconnus comme inventeurs de bêtises, de ma sœur, de mon chien à pois et de Willy le poney. Je passais l’hiver en bottes jaunes et l’été pieds nus. Dans mes nombreux souvenirs, il y a des ballades sur le porte-bagage du vélo ma sœur repeint en vert-pomme avec la selle bombée argent, pour aller ramasser des mûres violettes pour faire les confitures. Et finir la ballade en cueillant des coquelicots rouges qui fanent trop vite, et réaliser que finalement, c’est plus agréable de les regarder le long des chemins. Je me souviens aussi des dimanches, debout sur la table de la salle à manger, où ma mère ajustait avec des épingles les vêtements qu’elle me faisait, ma préférée restant celle en Liberty. Et moi je bricolais des robes à mes poupées avec les chutes de tissus. Tout était fait maison : les confitures, la cuisine familiale, les robes d’été et les tricots d’hiver. J’ai gardé la mémoire du toucher, les torchons traditionnels à bandes rouges qu’utilisait ma mère, le tablier en métis blanc qu’elle portait en faisant la cuisine. Et le soir me glisser sous les draps en lin dans lesquels je dormais, draps du trousseau de mariage brodés d’initiales, le tout couvert d’un édredon vieux rose décoloré par le temps… Finalement, c’est ce qui fait l’identité de La Cerise aujourd’hui !
Here are the anecdotes and colourful memories that inspire the world of La Cerise to this day. I grew up in Normandy by the sea, surrounded by my 4 brother s, renown mischief maker s; my sister, my polka dotted dog and Willy the pony. I spent winter in yellow wellies and summer barefoot. In my many memories are rides on the rack of my sister's bike. Repainted in apple green with the saddle sprayed silver, we went and gathered purple blackberries for the jam. Picked red poppies that would wither too fast, making us realise how better they looked lining the paths. I also remember Sundays, standing up on the dining room table, with my mother adjusting the clothes she'd make for me with pins.
In the end, that's what made La Cerise's identity today!

My favourites being the ones she made out of Liber ty. Me, I would put together dresses for my dolls with scraps of left-over fabric. Ever ything was homemade: the jam, the home cooking, the summer dresses and winter knitwear. I kept the memor y of the feel, the traditional tea towels with red bands my mother used, the mixed-cloth white apron she wore whilst cooking. Also the linen bed sheets I slept in, the monogrammed ones from the wedding trousseau, all of it covered with an old pink eiderdown faded with age…

La cerise sur le gâteau met un point d’honneur à vous offrir la meilleure qualité pour son linge de maison, car nous avons très envie que vos enfants héritent de vos torchons ! Dans une logique de « bon sens », le choix de nos fournisseurs est conditionné par notre vision de la fabrication, respectueuse de la qualité, de l’environnement et des conditions de travail. Toute la production de notre linge de maison, à l’exception des édredons, est centralisée dans la région de Porto au Portugal, région à l’empreinte textile forte, qui a su garder son savoir-faire. Nous avons choisi de travailler exclusivement avec des fournisseurs portugais certifiés Oeko-tex, aussi bien pour le tissage, la teinture que l’impression. Oeko-tex est le premier label visant à garantir les qualités humano-écologiques des textiles, exempt de produits toxiques pour le corps et pour l’environnement. Nous sommes aussi allées nous promener en Inde pour trouver notre fabricant d’édredons, personne n’en fait d’aussi doux et moelleux que lui… Finalement il s’agit toujours d’une histoire de belles rencontres. Nous vous dévoilons un peu plus l’univers et les coulisses de la production à travers des images ou vidéo à découvrir sur le site de la cerise sur le gâteau.
So that your children can inherit your tea towels, La Cerise sur le Gateau believes in bringing you the best quality possible! We select our supplier s based on skill and « savoir-faire », but also on a shared philosophy. This philosophy concerns a style of manufacturing that respects both quality and wor k conditions. All our linen manufacturing (except duvets) is based in a region of Por to (Por tugal) that has strong historical links to the textile industr y, as well as a skilled local wor kforce. We wor k exclusively with Oeko-tex cer tified provider s for weaving, dyeing and printing. Oeko-tex is an independent testing and cer tification label that guarantees environmentally friendly and socially acceptable manufacturing. This means that our collections are free from products that are harmful to the body and the environment. We travelled around India to find the best guy to manufacture our duvets, to have the softest and smoothest duvets possible. At the end of the day, it’s all a matter of building a strong wor king relationships…
