Poll: Obama NSA Speech Fell Flat Washington

Americans React to President’s Proposals

If President Barack Obama thought he was going to move the needle with his speech on the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs last week, he was sorely mistaken. A new Pew Research Center poll shows not only that most A mericans didn’t pay at tention but also that those who did don’t think Obama’s proposals will change anything.

According to the Pew poll conducted Jan. 17-19 (other questions were posed Jan. 15-19), 8 percent of Americans have “heard a lot” about President Barack Obama’s NSA proposals, while 41 percent have “heard a little.” Of these groups:
