descriPtion of the employer The International Research and Documentation Center War Crimes Trials has been at the Philipps-Universit채t Marburg since July 2003. The image of war crimes trials after World War II has been shaped by the Nuremberg Trial, where the heads of the National Socialist regime were on trial as major war criminals before the International Military Tribunal, as well as the Subsequent Nuremberg Trials before US military tribunals. Many more trials were conducted by other national jurisdictions worldwide. The work of the ICWC is currently divided up into 4 projects (Transitional Justice, WWII, Legal Tools, and Trial-Monitoring). These in turn contain several sub-projects, supervised by various members of staff.

information about the traineeship Tasks The International Research and Documentation Center War Crimes (ICWC) is constantly looking for trainees from in and outside Germany. It offers short as well as long term traineeships. The work of the ICWC focuses on the research and documentation of historic sources, especially in the context of war crimes trials. Furthermore, it supports the work of the ICC and other national and international tribunals. A special working field is trial observation (monitoring). Net salary EUR 250 per month.
