Check Out Our New Website If you have visited our website recently, you have certainly noticed the new look of our totally revised site which was launched in mid November. The new site ads a great deal more functionality with the ability to communicate with our members on a real time basis and interface with popular social media. The goal was to develop a site that would provide the most current information and up to the minute grooming status of trails. By utilizing a twitter feed, groomer operators will be updating grooming activities on a real time basis so you will always know what trails are freshly groomed.

Opening Date for Trails Each year a date is set by the State of NY to officially open the trails. This date corresponds with the end of hunting season and is intended to be a general date for opening trails on public lands. It should be noted that each individual club has the final authority as to whether to open their trails or not. Of course one of the main determining factors when deciding to open the trail system is the existence of adequate snow cover but many other factors are also taken into consideration such as requests of land owners, status of signage and the condition of the trails (removing fallen trees and other obstacles). As with every club, the safety of the riders is a very important consideration when deciding to open our trail system. Trails will not be opened until they are determined to be safe to ride. Club volunteers accomplish an enormous amount of work in a very short period of time to ensure that the trails are opened as soon as possible. PLEASE CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE TRAILS ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN BEFORE VENTURING OUT. You can check our website www.ellerysnocruisers.org or call the trail hotline at 800-242-4569. Remember, riding when the trails are not officially open is trespassing. Please respect the Landowners who have graciously given permission for trails to cross their land. Be safe and have fun!
