MEET DON RAFAEL’S STORY

Don Rafael, a courageous and determined patient who has faced the challenge of primary open angle glaucoma with determination. Although he has lost his vision, he has looked for options to improve his quality of life and has found in Visualiza Clinics a place of support and visual rehabilitation.

Don Rafael, 77 years old, has learned to use an application to help him move around in a safer way. This tool has given him more confidence and has allowed him to enjoy social meetings and he has also learned to know better the position of his food and to avoid throwing away food utensils at mealtime.

In addition, the use of recommended magnification and assistive glasses has improved his ability to read and view screens, such as his cell phone and computer. Rather than limiting his activities, Don Rafael has seen this process as a challenge.

“With the loss of my vision, I am able to move forward, and it has helped me socialize better at meetings with my friends.”

WE ADMIRE DON RAFAEL FOR HIS COURAGE AND EFFORT

His story inspires us to continue promoting access to vision rehabilitation services and supporting people facing visual challenges.
