Tram Route 109 – to the City Tram route 109 operates between Port Melbourne (Station Pier) and Box Hill via the city centre. To catch a tram into the city, board the Route 109 to Box Hill at the stop at the end of the Pier, which travels through Port Melbourne and past the Crown Entertainment Complex. It crosses the Yarra River before turning right into Collins Street, to take you into the heart of the city.

Wildlife Victoria’s fascinating native wildlife includes kangaroos, koalas, wombats, platypus, echidnas and lovable little penguins. You can watch an extensive collection of native animals at the Melbourne Zoo or alternatively head to Healesville Sanctuary in the Yarra Valley, Moonlit Sanctuary on the Mornington Peninsula or Ballarat Wildlife Park (all within 1-1.5 hour drive from Melbourne). Melbourne Visitor Shuttle The Melbourne Visitor Shuttle is a great way to see Melbourne’s attractions, stopping at 13 key destinations around the city. A round trip takes approximately 90 minutes and includes an informative on-board audio commentary. It runs every 30 minutes between 9.30am to 4.30pm every day (excluding Christmas Day). Tickets are available from the Melbourne Visitor Centre at Federation Square or from ticket machines located at each stop. TRANSPORT IN MELBOURNE The easiest way to get from your ship at Station Pier to the city centre is by Bus 109 City Express, using a myki card. Myki is Melbourne’s ticket to travel on the city’s trains, trams and buses. Follow these easy steps to activate and use your myki: 1. Purchase a myki Visitor Value Pack (full fare $14) from the PTV Counter located in the upper level foyer of the International Terminal. 2. Board the Bus 109 City Express located at the bottom of the escalator, underneath the International Terminal. 3. Touch your myki on one of the green myki readers as you enter the bus (or tram) to activate your myki and ensure you have a valid ticket. Melbourne’s E-Class Tram Bus 109 City Express A return bus shuttle to the city centre operates between 8am and 5pm for most cruise ships. This service runs express from the International Terminal to Arts Centre Melbourne on St Kilda Road, and then runs express back to the pier. Tram Route 109 – to the City Tram route 109 operates between Port Melbourne (Station Pier) and Box Hill via the city centre. To catch a tram into the city, board the Route 109 to Box Hill at the stop at the end of the Pier, which travels through Port Melbourne and past the Crown Entertainment Complex. It crosses the Yarra River before turning right into Collins Street, to take you into the heart of the city. Lavandula, Daylesford Phillip Island 1½ – 2 hours from Melbourne Phillip Island is famed for seeing Australian wildlife in its natural habitat. It is home to a colony of little penguins that make their way from the sea up Summerland Beach to their burrows every day at dusk. Australia’s largest colony of fur seals, koalas and a large population of mutton birds and migratory water birds also live on the island. Ideally your ship will be staying overnight or depart late at night to allow you to witness the penguin parade at dusk.

Mornington Peninsula 1 – 2 hours from Melbourne The Mornington Peninsula is dotted with historic seaside villages. Visit stylish Sorrento, take a stroll along the picturesque harbour of Mornington and stop at the charming nineteenth century fishing hamlet of Flinders. A trip to nearby Cape Schanck will provide superb views of Bass Strait. Soak up at the Peninsula Hot Springs, ride a horse, play a round of golf and indulge in an abundance of local wine and produce. Goldfields 1½ – 2 hours from Melbourne Grand nineteenth-century buildings grace the streetscapes of Ballarat and Bendigo, while townships like Maldon and Castlemaine wear their goldrush heritage on their sleeves. Sovereign Hill, a living outdoor museum, recreates a goldmining town and the life of its people in the 1850s, a must see for all visitors. Daylesford & The Macedon Ranges 1½ hours from Melbourne Flock to the Macedon Ranges and Spa Country to enjoy Australia’s largest concentration of mineral springs, scenic surroundings, a thriving arts and craft community, and awardwinning food and wine. Revive and indulge in a luxurious spa bath and massage or enjoy many of the region’s towns and attractions such as the Convent Gallery or the Lavandula lavender farm. The Great Ocean Road 3 – 5 hours from Melbourne The iconic Great Ocean Road winds westwards from the major regional city of Geelong to the South Australian border. One of the most visited stretches of road is the Port Campbell National Park, home to the Twelve Apostles, remarkable limestone rock stacks rising from the ocean. Experiencing the Great Ocean Road requires a minimum of two days/one night.
