WHAT CHANGES WILL WE SEE IN NEAR FUTURE? WWWW.DAVIDKOPRIVSEK.COM
It’s a wellknown fact that one of the biggest changes we will see in the near future is global electrification. In the US and Europe most people take electricity for granted. But that is not the case in many parts of the world (Latin America, Africa and Asia). Safe, reliable solar power will have a transformative effect on these countries, especially in educational achievement (according to Ericsson’s newest report by 2020, 70% of all humans will own a smartphone and that means that most will have the same access to world class education) and healthcare. The world will finally, truly be wired. Undoubtedly we are on the verge of the »internet of everywhere«. So… What additional changes will we see? Computers will become exponentially better in understanding the world. Very quickly our cars are going to start driving themselves. Fewer truckdrivers will be needed. In many instances customer services will become automated. Less employees are already needed in warehouses/behind production lines due to robotized help. Software will disrupt most traditional industries in the next 510 years. For example, Uber is just software tool, they don’t own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world. Airbnb is at the moment the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don’t own any properties.
We are taking part in Digital economy if we are aware of it or not. So called technological unemployment is at hand. Many young people, ranging from the unschooled to those with doctoratelevel educations, are coming up in a world where they may be stuck at home and without job prospects for years. We are experiencing the economy that is every day lighter on labour, but heavier on technology and sharing. If you have any doubt that these are the changes we will see in the near future (or sooner!) then think again and look to re skill into the Digital Economy.
To your success!
