Veteran broadcaster Jerry Shemmel, the play-by-play voice of the Denver Nuggets since 1992, enters his first season as the new voice of CSU men’s basketball in 200910, giving the Rams a new and exciting connection to one of the top teams in the NBA.

In addition to The Mtn.’s in-depth coverage and wide array of original programming, fans can also catch many Mountain West Conference sporting events on either CBS College Sports or Versus. The trio of networks gives CSU fans all over the country unprecedented access to all things Rams!

Launched on Sept. 1, 2006, The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network - was the first network dedicated to a collegiate athletic conference. The Mtn. provides sports fans blanket coverage of MWC athletics across multiple sports. The network featured more MWC games on television than ever before during the 2008-09 academic year and is slated to bring more live coverage to fans during the 2009-10 men’s basketball season.

Rams basketball can be heard live worldwide on the Nelligan Sports Colorado State Sports Network. The 2009-10 season will feature live game coverage of all of Colorado State’s regular-season and postseason contests.

Schemmel will continue his role as the play-by-play voice for Nuggets home games, and long-time CSU broadcaster Brian Roth will fill in for Schemmel as the play-by-play voice when the Nuggets’ and Rams’ schedules conflict.

The Rams continue to be one of the most televised teams in the country, and will appear on television 17 times during the 2009-10 regular season, including 16 appearances on The Mtn. and one on CBS College Sports.

All of CSU’s contests can be heard on Nelligan Sports Marketing’s Colorado State Sports Network, and flagship station KLZ, 560 AM, in the Denver Metro area. Locally, the games can also be heard on KCOL, 600 AM.

Live coverage isn’t limited to the Colorado State Sports Network’s normal coverage area. Ram fans worldwide can listen to the action live streaming on CSURams.com/ allaccess.

Reaching the Peak: Colorado State Season Pass

CSU Rams Basketball and the MountainWest Sports Network have announced a new reality series, “Season Pass: Colorado State Basketball.” This series is a follow-up to the six-episode series,“Reaching the Peak,” which chronicled the Rams’ basketball program through the first three months of the 2008-09 season and was nominated for an Emmy. Thirteen episodes of “Season Pass: CSU Basketball” will follow the Rams players and coaches on and off the court with the first episode set to air Dec. 17. The series will run weekly until the conclusion of the Rams season on The Mtn.
