United States Mint Classic and Modern Gold Coins

2016 Centennial Gold Collection In 2016, the United States Mint wanted to honor the 100th anniversary of the Libterty Dime, Quarter and Half Dollar that were released in 1916. They did this by releasing identical coin designs in 24kt Gold with a “W” mint mark and the 2016 date. Upon release, each one of these coins sold out from the mints website in minutes and quickly became the most popular coins among collectors in 2016. With such a limited mintage for each, these coins are incredibly hard to find but we have a select few remaining for those who want the most prestigious addition to their collection. 2016 Mercury Dime - ANACS SP70 . . . . . . . . . . 032441 | $499.95 2016 Mercury Dime - Mint Packaging . . . . . . . . . . 031913 | $299.95 2016 Standing Liberty Quarter - ANACS SP70 . . . . 032478 | $899.95 2016 Standing Liberty Quarter - Mint Packaging . . . 032472 | $499.95 2016 Walking Liberty Half Dollar - ANACS SP70 . . . . . with President Roosevelt and sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, depicting Lady Liberty striding forward on the obverse and a breathtaking eagle in flight on the reverse.

Liberty Head $5, one of the longest lasting denominations in United States history. Half eagles would go on to see almost continuous production from 1795 to 1929, and throughout their life, they would not only be used in trade, but – in preference to almost any other gold coin – would popularly be found in Christmas stockings! The obverse design features Liberty’s hair tied in a bun and secured by a string of beads. She wears a coronet in her hair inscribed with the word LIBERTY.

Liberty Head $20 Double Eagle, born in the era of the great California Gold Rush (1850-1866). The $20 Liberty Head was one of the largest circulating gold coins. The coins were produced at the Philadelphia Mint from 1850 through 1865, at the New Orleans mint from 1850 through 1861, and the San Francisco Mint from 1854 through 1866. The San Francisco coins of 1866 were the last of the design, and were also issued as part of the type 2 series, with the new motto IN GOD WE TRUST.

Saint Gaudens $20 Double Eagle, introduced in 1907 is one of the favorites among collectors. Designed in collaboration

Liberty Head $2.5, issued in 1840 through 1907 the Coronet quarter eagle was struck at five different mints: Philadelphia (no mint mark), Charlotte (C), Dahlonega (D), New Orleans (O), and San Francisco (S). Throughout this series of gold coins there are some with legendary status, as well as a large number of dates or mint marks with scarce issues.

Indian Head $10 Eagle, regular issued coins were struck at all three Mints (P, D, and S) from 1908 through 1911, and again in 1914. Only Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints struck eagles in 1912, 1913, and 1915. Only San Francisco Mint struck them in 1916 and 1920. The portrait of Liberty seen on coins of this type originally was designed by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens as a bust of the Nike head used on New York City’s monument to General William T. Sherman. At the request of President Roosevelt, Saint-Gaudens adapted this splendid bust for the $10 piece with the addition of a Native American headdress.

Type III Indian Princess Gold Dollar, first made its appearance in 1849 at a mere thirteen millimeters in diameter. This was more than one-fourth smaller than our present day Roosevelt dime! Which caused many American’s to grumble as losing a dollar back then represented losing a day’s pay. In 1856, the mint created the Type III $1 coin with a larger, flatter portrait. The coin features a female figure commonly described as an “Indian Princess”.

depression, Henry Ford initiated “the greatest revolution in the matter of rewards for its workers ever known to the industrial world.” He doubled his workers’ pay from $2.34 per day to a princely $5 and reduced their nine-hour workday to eight hours. The $5 gold piece suddenly became a coin of considerable clout. Even though it was only slightly larger than the then brand-new “Buffalo” nickel, it represented a full day’s pay – enough to buy a pair of trousers plus a pair of work boots. These Indian Head gold pieces are unlike any other coins produced before or since by Uncle Sam: their designs and inscriptions are sunken below the surface of the coins, rather than being raised.

Type I Liberty Head $1, introduced in 1849 and the California gold rush provided the spark. During their six years of production, Type 1 gold dollars were struck at five different mints - Philadelphia (no mint mark), Charlotte (C), Dahlonega (D), New Orleans (O), and San Francisco (S) – but only the Philadelphia and Dahlonega mints issued them every year. San Francisco made them only in 1854, while Charlotte and New Orleans made them every year except 1854.

Morgan Dollars were introduced by the mint in 1878 and continued until 1904, and again in 1921. The Morgan Silver Dollar features a design by George T. Morgan, an English-born immigrant, assistant engraver to William Barber. The obverse of the Morgan Dollar portrays Liberty’s head, facing left. She is wearing a Phrygian cap, with the word LIBERTY on her hair band. Wheat and oak leaves are featured throughout the design. The reverse for the Morgan Dollar depicts a Bald Eagle with wings outstretched with a small wreath surrounding it. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is above and the denomination ONE DOLLAR is below. Surrounding both the wreath and the eagle is UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Over the years the Morgan Dollar was struck at a total of five different nationwide Mints. The coins were minted at three different mints, the Philadelphia, San Francisco (S), and Carson City (CC). There was a noticeable difference in the first year to the reverse design of the Morgan Dollar. The designs varied between the number of tail feathers of the eagle, either being 7 or 8 total. The hardest of the reverse tail feathers to find is the 7 over 8 tail-feathers. To see this you must look for the tips of the feathers extending below the major feathers of the coin. In the end, the Philadelphia mint went with the 7 tail feather design and it continued as the reverse design of the Morgan Dollar for the remaining years of the series. Today you can own a complete 1878 5pc Morgan Dollar set certified by NGC in MS63 grade, PLUS we will include the Morgan Dollar: America’s Love Affair with Legendary Coin book. The two exclusive dimes in the 3-coin set were a U.S. Mint first, as well as the lowest mintage in the Roosevelt Dimes series of only 75,000. The U.S. Mint has never before produced a reverse proof silver dime or a silver proof dime from the West Point Mint. A Reverse Proof coin has the opposite appearance of a proof coin, with a mirror-like design on a frosted background. The U.S. mint added a surcharge of $10 to every order placed to help the March of Dimes Foundation fund finance research, education, and services aimed at improving the health of women, infants, and children.

COIN FACT: In 2007 & 2008 the Presidential Dollars were designed with the words "In God We Trust", "E Pluribus Unum", the date and the mint mark on the edge of the coin. This however created an enormous uproar among the collecting community since "In God We Trust" is traditionally on the obverse of a coin and many people thought it was left off entirely. As a result, in 2009 "In God We Trust" along with the date were moved to the front of the coin thus creating two different design types throughout the series.

COIN FACT: With the release of the Presidential Dollar series in 2007 came a plenitude of technical changes in the minting process. One of which was the implementation of edge lettering. While many of the coins were created without issue there was a small number of coins released that skipped the edge lettering process entirely. These coins were renowned as one of the most profound errors in modern coin history and demanded enormous premiums upon discovery. So much so that some people began to grind off the edge lettering in attempts to replicate these coins. As a result grading companies began certifying them to distinguish the authentic errors versus the fakes.

State and Territory Proof Coin Collection BU Clad Proof Album Set 15838 | $249.95 BU Silver Proof Album Set 15839 | $899.95

U.S. Mint Proof Statehood Quarters were never offered for public circulation. They’re exceedingly rare—in fact, the typical mintage of a Proof Statehood Quarter is less than ONE HALF of 1% of the entire mintage of the Statehood Quarters you might find in your spare change. Proof coins are SO desirable that they are often selfishly hoarded by wealthy collectors. Statehood Quarter Proofs are produced exclusively at the U.S. Mint’s San Francisco facility and are struck to the same demanding standards that have been in place since 1965. These coins are limited edition works of art—the highest quality coinage produced by the U.S. Mint. The Proof coins from 1999 and 2001 are extremely hard to obtain, but with either one of these packages you are assured to get every one of these coins in pristine proof condition!

State, Territory and America the Beautiful Quarter Programs Since it’s inception 1999, the state quarter program has started more collectors on their numismatic journey than any other program before it. It really began at the end of 1997 when President Clinton signed Public Law 105-124 authorizing the State Quarters Program. Under the United States Mint Director Philip N. Diehl, an innovative program intended to honor each of the 50 states was planned. The series was scheduled to release 5 quarters each year starting in 1999 in the order each state ratified the Constitution or were admitted to the Union. The reverse of each quarter displayed a picture honoring the particular State. On January 4, 1999 the Delaware Quarter was released, displaying Caesar Rodney on horseback who notably rode 80 miles to cast the deciding vote in favor of independence.

Our Nation’s most treasured national parks and sites – majestic places that truly make us “America the Beautiful” – are represented in a 5oz pure silver quarter series that started in 2010. This series is the first five-ounce, .999 fine silver bullion coins ever produced by the United States Mint. The 5oz quarters are exact duplicates – only much larger – of the America the Beautiful Quarter series that started in 2010 and will go through 2021. The obverse of the quarter features George Washington based on the portrait created by John Flanagan for the 1932 Washington Quarter. The reverse of each quarter features the National Park or Site that is being honored that year. The United States Mint created two types of these 5oz quarters, one being the bullion coin that comes in a tube of 10 coins. The second is the “Uncirculated” coin that features a P symbol representing the Philadelphia Mint, with a certificate of authenticity and housed in Original Government packaging.

43 Years of Mint Sets 1965 - 2008 031275

|

$399.95

Since 1947, the United States Mint has created annual sets of uncirculated coins for collectors known as Mint Sets. These popular sets provide collectors with one example of each coin issued for circulation.Amidst a few interruptions and several changes in format, this popular offering for collectors continues to the present day. Some sets are particularly noteworthy since they contain coins not issued for circulation. This includes the 1970 Mint Set, which includes the 1970 -D Kennedy Half, and later sets issued in 1973 and 1981 that include non-circulating dollar coins. The 1996 Mint Set included the 1996 -W Roosevelt Dime struck at the West Point Mint—a coin found only in the sets for the 50th anniversary of the coin series. From 2005 to 2010, the United States Mint has used a special satin finish for coins included in the annual Mint Set. Along with particularly low mintage, this adds another unique aspect to the sets.

Franklin Half Dollar Album

This is a COMPLETE PDS set of Franklin Half Dollars from 1948-1963, 35 coins total! This set includes 16 coins from the Philadelphia Mint, 14 from the Denver Mint, and 5 from the San Francisco Mint. All are average circulated condition and housed in a Whitman Album. An easy way to collect the entire Franklin Half Dollar series!

Many have heard stories of The Old American West history and legends. Like the gunfight at OK Corral including Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and Billy the Kid. These silver bars bring that historic nostalgia to your own silver collection, honoring the town of Tombstone, Arizona. The bar is 1 Kilo of Pure .999 Silver, uniquely crafted by fellow Arizonans.

Widows Mite is a historic coin mentioned in the Bible to demonstrate charity. Widow’s Mite is mentioned in the New Testament, as you can read in Mark 12:41-44, “41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

1953 or 1963 $2 Red Seal Note, VG/VF 12770 | $14.95 Red Seal notes were backed only by the credit of the U.S. government, despite that fact that they were issued at a time when money was redeemable for gold or silver. These notes had a red treasury seal and red serial numbers. Red Seal notes were issued in $1, $2, $5 and $100 denominations.

1935 or 1957 $1 Silver Certificate, VG/VF 12772 | $9.95 A silver certificate is a type of U.S. paper money that was redeemable in silver. These notes, issued between 1928 and 1963, were printed in denominations of $1, $5 and $10. They are easy to spot because they have distinctive blue Treasury seals and blue serial numbers, which is why collectors often call them “blue seal notes” or “blue seals.”
