Myanmar is a country full of rivers composing a great delta region with four main rivers crossing her – Ayeyarwaddy, Thanlwin, Chindwin and Sittuang River.

Chindwin River

The Ayeyarwady, the lifeline of the country, flows from its origin in the peaks of the Himalayas through remote jungle-covered highlands, passing important cities like Bhamo, Mandalay, Sagaing and Bagan. As early as the sixth century, the river was used for trade and transport and was an important pipeline during the British colonisation of Burma.
