Please do not put refuse out before 3:00 pm the Sunday prior to April 8, June 10, August 12, and October 14. 1. All residents living on private roads must have the trash placed at the end of the road in a pile. 2. Refuse must be limited to what two men can lift. 3. Barrels with both ends cannot be picked up; land fills will not accept them. 4. All barrels, including barrels with trash in them, will be taken. Any barrel or container too heavy for two men to pick up will not be taken. 5. Trash piles should be located within easy reach from the road, not 20 to 30 feet, for the convenience of the trash haulers. 6. All objects must be bagged or put in containers that will be picked up. No loose materials will be picked up. 7. Containers must be left at curbside and they will not be returned. 8. Old appliances will be picked up if they can be lifted by two men. No refrigerators, freezers or air conditioners unless refrigerants are removed by a professional and tagged. Remember... Appliances can be recycled. 9. NO YARD WASTE! 10. NO BUILDING MATERIALS WILL BE PICKED UP 11. NO TIRES WILL BE PICKED UP 12. NO GARBAGE or container for food products will be picked up. 13. NO ROCKS, SAND, CONCRETE, RUBBLE OR DEAD ANIMALS will be picked up. 14. No motor oil or containers with liquids such as oil based and latex paint. Cans with dried paint are acceptable if lids are removed. 15. No call backs will be made if refuse is placed after the truck has serviced your house. 16. Complaints will be verified (field checked) by Township personnel and checked against driver’s log. 17. Any item not picked up because of the above reasons must be taken off the curbside and stored out of sight by noon of the day following each pick-up. 18. Obituaries Max F. BONNELL
AGE 79 - OTSEGO, MICHIGAN
Max passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 in Kalamazoo. He was born April 4, 1933 in Alamo Twp., the son of Alan and Minerva (Flegal) Bonnell. Max attended Otsego High School where he played clarinet in the band and was in the graduating class of 1951. Following graduation Max worked as an Auto Mechanic until he was able to open his own service station. He was the owner of Bonnell’s Auto Service in Alamo from 1968 – 1978. He then worked as a mechanic, a parts manager and a service manager for several area auto dealerships. Max retired from Rex Hays Chevrolet in Allegan in May 1998. Max enjoyed ice fishing with his sons while they were growing up, golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also played clarinet and saxophone with a local band and enjoyed stock car racing, he was the owner of a stock car and drove from time to time. On June 27, 1953 in Otsego, Max married Betty Fuller who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Brian (Susan) Bonnell and Terry (Charlene) Bonnell; grandchildren, Daniel (Elizabeth), Shaun, Heather (Jeffrey) Kiel, Cody, Jeffrey, Keith (Meredith), Amy (Mark) Morey; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Alan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Wieber’s involvement with the City of Otsego over the past 12 years has been vast. In 2001 she was named Executive Director of the Otsego Chamber of Commerce. Simultaneously she served on the Otsego Planning Commission. From 2001 – 2008 Wieber served as the Chairman of the Otsego Creative Arts Festival, the community’s largest event, held in September each year. In 2010 she was elected to a four year seat on the City Commission where she serves currently. Her long standing relationships with business owners and city leaders, along with her proven ability to lead and inspire made her a natural choice for this position. For nearly a year, the City of Otsego has been working toward becoming a Michigan Main Street Community. At the beginning of March, our efforts paid off, efforts that Wieber spearheaded. Wieber will begin her new position on April 24, 2013. The DDA is currently looking to secure office space in Otsego’s downtown district. Until then, she will occupy space in City Hall. As Main Street Manager, Wieber will be working closely with staff at the Michigan Main Street Center in Lansing. The first goal of the program will be to complete a baseline assessment, which will be led by
