Doris passed away, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo She was born October 23, 1928 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John and Anna (Cleaver) Crose Doris worked at Parker Hannifin for 20 years and after retirement worked part time at Zayers, Kmart and Safari Circuits Doris loved hockey and for over 40 years was a season ticket holder for the K-Wings She also enjoyed following baseball in the summer and knitting She was a member of the Kalamazoo Baptist Church On December 1, 1956 in Angola, Indiana she married Paul Ballay Jr who passed away in 2009 Surviving are her children, Ken (Mary) Brown of Otsego and Stephan Ballay of Portage; 9 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her sister, Evelyn Cramer of Hickory Corners along with many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Larry Brown and Glenna Weston and by her siblings, Donald Crose, Wilma “Betty” Ringler and Shirley Arehart Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, with Pastor Seth Green officiating Cremation followed Burial of ashes will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego at a later time Contributions in memory of Doris may be made to the Christian Broadcasting Network

When Jesus was twelve years old, while attending the Feast of the Passover, His parents lost Him in the Holy City When they found Him three days later, He was “in the temple cour ts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them q u e s t i o n s ” ( L u ke 2 : 4 6 ) T h e S c r i p t u r e a d d s, “Ever yone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers” (Luke 2:47) In other words, He grew intellectually Studying God’s Word and understanding God’s ways is a life-long jour ney

2 He Grew Physically – so can we The Bible says our bodies are temples of the Holy Spir it (I Cor inthians 6:19-20) Thus, we can honor God’s temple by good nutr ition, physical exercise and being kind to our bodies

3 He Grew Spiritually – so can we In Luke 2:39-40 we read, “They retur ned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him ” Jesus often spoke of His oneness with His Heavenly Father He would sometimes spend the entire night in prayer When we take time to pray, we grow closer to God

4 He Grew Relationally – so can we Jesus summed up the Law in one sentence: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your hear t, soul and mind You shall love your neighbor as yourself ” (Matthew 22:37) It has been said, the cross is a powerful symbol of this commandment

Even without toys he had a bunch of fun prancing around in the deep snow He can also be a sweetie and once he gets to know you he will r ub his body against you looking for affection Poseidon is ver y dog fr iendly and would be happy to join an existing pack If your home already includes another dog, a meet and greet will be set up to make sure the dogs are a good match He will need a home where there are no cats or small cr itters It is recommend that any children in his home are teenagers Poseidon is 11 m onths old and weighs approxim ately 45 pounds Adopters with Husky exper ience are preferred As par t of the adoption process, he will need to be signed up for basic training
