CITY OF ENID, OKLAHOMA

August 2017

Thoughts from Jerald Gilbert, City Manager As we make back-to-school preparations, don’t forget to make school safety a priority by being extra vigilant in school zones and residential neighborhoods. The City of Enid takes your children's safety very seriously. School zone speed limits will soon be in effect and The City of Enid crews have freshly painted school crosswalks. Enjoy the last few days of summer and remind your children to be careful on their way to school.

–Jerald Gilbert

SCHOOL UPDATE Enid Public Schools is preparing for another exciting year of educating students in 2017-2018. We are very thankful to the voters of our community who saw fit in February of 2016 to pass a $92.8 million bond issue that will benefit each campus in our school district and provide outstanding facilities for our students for decades to come. Those bond issue dollars will: provide new classrooms, address critical safety and security issues, provide a technology device for every student, upgrade transportation department vehicles, and provide a state-of-theart competition gym and performing arts center at Enid High School. As a result of numerous construction projects that will be taking place, the EPS theme for 2017-2018 will be “Building Better Schools & Brighter Futures.” We will be building on previous accomplishments and forging ahead by continuing to strive for

Excellence, Pride, and Success. - Dr. Darrell Floyd, Superintendent, Enid Public Schools
